This would be a top 5 moment in our program's history. If things fall right (Clemson losing) Iowa could be ranked number 1 after this game, a CFP berth and of course the elusive undefeated undisputed Big Ten Champs, all on the line.
This could be the season that Iowa turns into somewhat of a blue blood if things continue to fall the right way. A national championship won in this manner, being the first undefeated CFP champ and doing it in an era where that accomplishment means winning 15 straight and 3 top 5 wins in a row would be something never done before. And certainly its a possibility when you combine it with the fact we were not ranked until week 5 that it may never be done this way again.
Other schools like BYU and Colorado have done it in an era that was much easier without conf title games and the CFP first round, not playing #2 in their bowl game, etc and they still lucked into it.
I'm also excited to see what this means for recruiting especially when it comes to some of the legacy recruits looming out there. Isiah Pryor and AJ Epenesa I would think would take a long hard look at least.
Finally, with the new facilities, the West being ours to take, a natty, a highly ranked recruiting class or two, and as young and talented as we currently are, certainly sets us up for a long run near the top. Funny how 3 months can change everything.
