*****Texas A&M Comm vs Iowa Game Thread*****

I watched.

Lackadaisical would be my description. To be fair I kind of locked in on him and the whole team could be described like that for most of the game.
Too early to jump to conclusions. He looked really good guarding the interior last year in spurts, although he struggled guarding the pick and roll. Good news is that there are alternatives if this continues, and Dembele may end up being primarily the sub when Freeman sits. I hope he can provide more.

I'd prefer Ladji as backup 5 to Brauns. Brauns' minutes on the court are numbered after last night.

With the way Pryce played last night I think Payton is gonna see the 4 a lot.

I agree, once Traore is good he should start, Ladji backs up Owen and Brauns is only an emergency option.

Brauns is plenty athletic but he doesn't have much of a feel for the game. Maybe that improves with PT but he should be third in line.

Also agree Payton is best at the 4 but when half your team are 4s people are going to have to play out of position.

I think he needs to sit and be Freeman's backup as well until he improves. He really looks lethargic, and a bit lost on the court IMO. Not a good combo for anyone.

Let's hope he's maybe under the weather and we don't know about it. That would explain the 'lethargic' effort so many have described.

I would wait a couple more games before making that conclusion, but you could be right. I still haven't seen Traore or Koch play enough to make conclusions about their overall game. Traore is athletic, and Koch can shoot the ball. What I want most from a 4, with the players Iowa has at the other positions, is a rebounder and interior defender.

I'm actually surprised at Koch. He looks to have decent strength and lateral mobility.

I thought he might just be a spot up guy for a few years but he looks to be a more complete player.
