We're far too critical of the Hawks, I think they're better than any of those teams, Michigan St is always tough as hell tho.
It’s usually that way for Iowa hoops for some reason. Some of those mid 2010s teams got RIPPED which made it very clear many people don’t watch other college hoops outside of Iowa. We're far too critical of the Hawks, I think they're better than any of those teams, Michigan St is always tough as hell tho.

Doesnt mean they’re above criticism but the arguments about athletic ability were always very silly.
Athletes with scholarships, are indeed getting paid. Other than that, carry on.Agreed. Heck, I'm not sure some people watch any basketball anywhere other than Iowa games. I mean, I try to be honest in any assessment, but I also try to never just rip on anyone...because they are college kids not getting paid.
As for the RIPPED part...Woodbury/Gesell anyone? Being Fran's first two big name recruits put a target on their backs for fans of their own team that they were never able to shake, despite deserving about 1% of the complaints they received.

LOL! Ask any student or parent of said student who isn't on a scholarship if these Athletes are getting paid or not. This is what is called a no-brainer.No, they aren't. Nowhere near the same, and they don't deserve the crap they receive that they would if they were paid, professional athletes.
The second half of MSU/Duke was brutal at times. Super sloppy play. The Kansas - Kentucky game was hard to watch.
Without looking, I assume Greenville plays Grinnell styleI'm only mentioning this because a friend of my son plays for them, but IL State beat DIII Greenville tonight 177-108. ISU shot 86% from the floor, 70-81, and had 57 reb and 57ast. They had 10 guys in double figures.
Former Grandview Christian F Harouna Sissoko (my son's friend) had 21 on 9-9 shooting (I'll just assume all 9 were vicious dunks), and 7 reb in 16 min.

If you shot 3s all game and made 50%, you'd need to shoot a 3 every 20 seconds! Crazy.Still, 177 points in 40 minutes is ridiculous. Of course, the great Iowa team of 1970 (John Johnson, Freddie Brown & Co.) put up 75 in the FIRST HALF against Notre Dame in the NCAA tournament--and that was, of course, BEFORE the 3-point shot was invented. Had the 3-pointer been available, Iowa probably would have had about 90 points in that first half, so there's that.
