ESPN Has Fran on the Hot Seat

If Beth brings back Fran for another year, I am OUT (meaning I'm done watching) until Fran is gone. I've reached the point this season where my main motivation for watching the games is out of morbid curiosity. Bringing back Fran despite it all, indicates to me pretty much what you just said. If the university doesn't care, then why should I?

But we'll see what happens. I'm hoping Beth sees exactly where things are and does what needs to be done.
He won’t be back

That in my opinion is one of the biggest head scratchers of his tenure. How can a fairly decent B1G yeam not make the sweet sixteen in 15 years? Look at all the little second and third tier schools who have done it in that time.

Fran needs one more win in the conference or his overall record in the Big Ten will be below .500. Currently he's at 131-130.

Looking over his time here, in his second season, they got an NIT invitation and somehow got to host a first round game, against Dayton. I remember the fans at Carver were pumped. They won. It was quite exciting. The next year they got to the NIT finals. Then three straight NCAA trips. All signs were really pointing up, and they had the support of the fans. But things sort of flatlined after that. There was a bump in the Garza/Murray years, but the lack of tournament success was really disappointing, and add in the last two years on top of that, it has all has led to the current state of apathy about the men's program.

I think Dayton hosts NCAA first round every year.
Also based on your timeline of upward trajectory. The plateau starts a year or two later when Connor joins the team. Then you have like 8 years of his sons impacting playing time decisions and recruiting.

Feels like it went sideways when his sons got into the program. Impacted playing time for others and recruiting. Some of those teams were good, but having those 2 on the floor for extended periods, really derailed what could have been some really good teams. Throw a legit PG and another legit PF in there with Keegan/Garza and you have a helluva team.
