Update: Lisa says Iowa will be quicker, Whitney and Tania to share PT on the court together, Megan to split time "evenly" with Chase at center, perhaps a little less scoring emphasis on the 3-pointer and perhaps more in transition, but no comment on who will start. Also, there was no mention at all about Alexa, Carly, or Christina and, other than freshmen introductions, nothing said about Hannah or Tagyn. Finally, Lisa said all newcomers will play and no one will redshirt unless medically necessary.

Hmmm...I think Kali will start, but I wonder if our best lineup won't eventually be

But maybe Kali's 3 pt shooting will be too important for spacing...just thinking out loud here. Excited for the upcoming season.

A little surprised that no one is redshirting, there is only 200 minutes to go around.
You know that Whit, Ally, Tania and Alex will dominate the minutes at the 1,2 & 3 spots.
4 & 5 spots- Megan, Chase, Kali, Carly
Thats 8 deep.
Just don't see a lot of minutes for Christina, Hannah and Larson.

I wouldn't expect anyone to announce they are redshirting at this point. They can play in the exhibition game or games, and then sit if that's the plan. They also can sit for several games, and then play, so really a player needs not say they are redshirting until the end of the season if they wish.
Am I reading the schedule right? There is 1 game televised between now and December 22nd?
And, that one with Upper Iowa is on BTN plus? Not to mention, the December 22nd game with Drake, and then December 31st with Nebraska are on BTN PLUS as well. Not even "BTN"

Hmmm, not even the BigTen/ACC challenge game? I thought every game in the challenge would be broadcast by the ESPN channels. And no TV for the Iowa/Iowa State game?
The ACC/BIG challenge game will likely be on whatever ACC has for a network since it's at Virginia - most likely will be available online only. The Iowa State game like two years ago will be available on the Cyclone Network which means you need to purchase it online too.
Kristi Faulkner did a number of times. I remember Wendy Ausdemore and Kelsey Cermak did through the years too, and a number of others.Seems like at least one ex-player filled in for Shelly last season and did OK (don't remember who). BB has no trouble with dialog flow& probably could do well enough alone. Having a second person for color is gravy.
I remembered Cermak after I posted, and now that you mention it I remember Ausdemore as well. I thought they both did well.

“In high school I was the point guard a lot of the time believe it or not,” Gustafson said. “I was taking up the ball when teams were full-court pressing and trying to fill a lot of roles. I feel like now I have a role that I know and I feel comfortable with it.”

Emily is listed as a manager on their roster this year. Bio says she only played 5 games last year because of injury. Wondering if she has possibly given up basketball.

I predict Alexa gets the start instead of Tania just because she has two years in the system. Of course I could be wrong and also that may change as the season progresses. Regardless, I expect Lisa to substitute liberally with Tania and Megan to get about the same number of minutes as Whitney and Chase. I think the bench as a whole will play about half of the game. I am especially looking forward to see how Carly and Christina do.
One other note. Looking at the last team photo, I was surprised at how much taller Hannah was compared to Carly. See looks to be virtually the same height as Chase and Megan. That would make her 6'3". Does anyone else agree? That leads me to think that she may be a third option at center with so many other options (Kali, Carly, and Claire) at the '4'.
