"We only lost cuz we didn't play last week."

There's no denying that Iowa State dealt with some game-one issues, and I do think a lot of people had already forgotten that this was in fact their first game of the season.

With that said, they had game film on us to prepare and we did not, and as far as I know they were as healthy as they're gonna be this year going into the game.

here's what they're saying: click here
Here's a classic example...

"I know we are to the point where conference games are more important than beating Iowa but I'd still like to see it every once in awhile. Mac gave it more attention but it seems like Campbell frankly doesn't give it any attention. Matt has accomplished alot here but is now 0-3 against Iowa."

That's all we will hear. But fact of the matter is they looked better in the first half and had few penalties and TO's. Not exactly facts that support the mossed game excuse. Plus they were all healthy and their p,alerts served their suspension. Let's not forget our starting RB didn't play cause he wa hurt in the first game. And Hell Foster could have had 30 games of work and he would still have nightmares of AJ.

Our defense looks like the real deal! How impressive was the run-stopping after that first drive?

Next week is bound to be a trap game.

Campbell, the guy who doesn't even like to say "iowa" because it reminds him of all the current and future loses?

I'm not sure I see a bowl in their future.
They won't get to 6 wins with that high school Oline. As bad as the Big12 is, outside Oklahoma, they'll need five games against Kansas to having a winning record. Campbell blew his wad last season.

Here's another one...

"the team we lost to is not good. Iowa doesn't have a good offense and all they got on defense is a great line. Their secondary is nothing special. That's why this is a disappointing loss, because Iowa is not that good. We beat ourselves with horrible o-line play and bad play calling."

So they must be REALLY bad. Guess they're gonna be lucky to win 2 games in the mighty 12......

I dunno....Kansas looked pretty good today.

Kind of funny but I was reading this thread as Campbell came on the post game. His opening statement or the first question he said not playing last week hurt them. I laughed hard.

That said, I don't know that they will be bad. Iowa st. has a defense. That is good for a few automatic wins in the Big 12.

Plus:
Kansas
Kansas St.
Baylor
Texas Tech
Texas

All dont look very good.

Remember some of the nashing of teeth on this site when some were upset that KF didn't offer a scholly to Foster? I think they knew what they were looking at.....

Foster was a 4* by Rivals that many teams didn't offer.
I'm not concerned with what these talking head recruiting guru's said. I just remember the number of people who couldn't believe we didn't offer him, and he went to ISU when he reportedly wanted to come to Iowa.

KC - u are correct. I remember he was highly rated and wanted to come to Iowa but after camp Iowa didn't offer. I may have some reservations about recruiting at times especially at WR but when it comes to the lines we should never question who we do and don't offer. There will always be misses but KF and his staff know exactly what they want/need for their system regardless of stars and the track record speaks for itself. Same at LB and DB for that matter.

I believe the Iowa staff’s eval on Foster was that he was soft and had slow feet. Based on last night, looks like they nailed that one.

If he really wanted to be a Hawk he could have walked on and proven himself to the coaches that their assessment was wrong. KF gives schollys all the time to those who earn it in practice and on the field.

He could have worked on his game in practice against #94 as well. Nah, the poor kid would have recurring nightmares all year then.....;)

So, what if THEY would've played last week and we didn't? And what if THEY would've lost their starting running back instead of us? Their 1st round RB did nothing. Imagine if they had their backup. Could their offense have possibly been worse?
