The register mentioned he went to the ISU pro day , but did not give any stats. Does anyone have his 40 time or bench?

Iowa declined his attendance and said they only take current players.

don't know about his 40 time or his bench reps but his sperm count was off the charts.

@MsideFootball: S/O to Wegher, Great #s at ISU's Pro Day. 40 4.48, 37in Vert, 225 23x and did well in all position drills. #BrightFuture #NFLDraft

This quote was from the article linked, the comment from it was very interesting.

"Also working out was well-traveled running back Brandon Wegher, the former Iowa freshman sensation who played for Morningside College last season. While Wegher looked the part today, scouts in attendance feel he has too much baggage to be brought into camp."

This quote was from The Gazette, also interesting.

During the last six months, the former Iowa running back has been asked often about his departure from Iowa and a three-year hiatus from football.

"It's a journey and I'm proud of where I've come and I wouldn't change anything about it," Wegher said Tuesday at the Bergstrom Football Complex, where he participated in Iowa State's Pro Day in front of scouts representing 27 NFL teams.

Wegher, who finished his college career at Morningside in his hometown of Sioux City, racked up 2,610 yards and 39 touchdowns last fall for the Mustangs.

"I came out here and did what I had to do," Wegher said after his workout. "I ran the 4.40 40, which was my goal. I accomplished that, did well in the other drills and we'll see what happens from here."

Wegher rushed for 641 yards and eight touchdowns in 2009, his only season at Iowa, which included a 113-yard performance in an Orange Bowl win over Georgia Tech. When trying to select a location to compete in Pro Day drills, Wegher reached out to Iowa but was told only current players were allowed to participate.

"That wasn't going to happen, so my agent contacted Iowa State and somehow they said yes, which I was surprised about since I played against them," Wegher said. "I'm blessed to be here and I thank the entire university. ... I can't thank them enough."

Somewhat disturbing seeing him at the ISU practice field, but we can all agree that having a former Iowa Hawkeye be the star of the ISU Pro Day and the most athletic person on the field during testing is a kind of funny.

I know, that is almost laughable. He made a couple of immature decisions at a young age IMO but nothing that would come close to disqualifying him from play pro football.

BTW, both Wegher and Scherff had 23 bench press reps.

Yeah, and I don't consider him one either. Good place for a hawkeye has been.

WOW, we don't even really know why he left and what the exact reason was. Yes, he might have made some bad decisions but a lot of 18-19 year kids do. I know I made a few. I really wish his career here could have worked out cause I have a feeling he, and Robinson (if he stayed out of trouble) could have been a as great of a duo as White and Gordon were at Wisky.

Also, when you are 23 what happened when you were 18 seems like a lifetime ago. I for one have been pretty impressed by what he's done the past year, and I think teams are pretty stupid for passing on him for "character issues." Spending a couple years at Morningside probably helped him have a better attitude and outlook than most of the guys out of Florida State, USC, and places like that.

Yet GF abusing pothead former Mizzou reciever Green-Beckham will be a late first rounder. If you are a good enough athlete, some pro team is giving you a shot. Baggage can be packed.

Chief's offender

Is he that young?

Damn, this is just a cruel reminder of how good he could have been as our back for another 3 years.

Friends in Sioux City tell me the kid is still a head case. And he too might be best suited to play for Denver if my sources are correct.

Watched him a M'Side once this year in the second round of the playoffs. Dude is built like a brick wall. Looks like he could play linebacker almost and that speed is something else. Regarding a head case, I don't know anything for sure. But in the game I saw, after he came off the field, he usually just went to the bench and sat by himself until it was his time to go back in. No cheering for the defense or discussing stuff with his QB. Granted, he's older and way more skilled than the rest of the players but I remember paying particular attention to his body language and it wasn't great.

Regardless, I hope he lands somewhere. It would be a pretty cool redemption story. I think he's paid his dues to earn a shot.

KWQC just had a video of him at Iowa State.

He thanked the people at "the University of Iowa State" for giving him the opportunity.

Will he make double figures in the Wonderlich?

If he doesn't top the Davis boys wonderlich scores does Iowa State get to keep the title since he had his pro day in Ames?

So predictable.

Even though Wegher may be the intellectual equivalent to the Davis boys, he sure didn't reside in the same galaxy as a college football player. Tearing it up at Morningside not quite the same as BIG XII/B16.

Really.

I know, had Weisman played at Morningside he would've have 8,000 yards and 150 rushing TDs last fall.

Well, just lost some respect there. Changes my opinion of the guy.

Why would he say anything different?

He was run out of IC.

However, when he ends up back in his tricked-out by daddy double-wide, he will rejoin the majority Iowa fans. Peer pressure.

Or any other college not named Iowa

He put up 23 reps in the Bench Press.

At the Combine Scherff did 23 reps, Donnall did 17.

I fail to see the cult of Western Iowans that still worship this loser. He never did squat at Iowa, and his "explosiveness" never materialized for his one year at Iowa. And there's more to his baggage than leaving Iowa after a year. Anyone in the know acknowledges this. There are many reasons he wasn't allowed to come to Iowa City for pro day. And remember his time at Oklahoma? For a week? LOL

It's great that his 23 year old self dominated the teenagers he competed against while playing for Morningside. But in my mind he isn't a Hawkeye.

Brandon Wegher rushed for 641 yards and gained 967 all-purpose yards as a freshman (3rd and 4th best all-time freshman in Iowa football history) and set a freshman school record eight (8) touchdowns. In addition, Wegher led the team with 116 yards on 16 carries and scored 1 TD in Iowa's Orange Bowl victory over Georgia Tech.

No, he never did squat at Iowa.

He was in there mostly due to necessity because of injuries. Not because of skill level or him passing everyone on the depth chart. He also averaged almost a yard less per carry than Adam Robinson, a walk-on redshirt freshman. And his one long run against GT in the bowl was mostly due to blocking and defensive scheme with GT having everyone up in the box. Robinson would have busted the same run. Weissman would have busted the same run. Paki O'Meara would have busted the same run.
