Well this isn’t what Joes Place has been saying…..’COVID deaths overcounted’

Hospitals got money for COVID deaths. People were noted as dying with COVID, therefore a COVID death. Overstated numbers? Yes, old news. Did people die from COVID but it wasn't tested for? Most likely. Therefore, undercount. Goes both ways

We. Did. Not. Get. Money. For. Covid. Deaths. This has been repeated for you for 3 years and you still spout this lie.

We were reimbursed at a higher rate for covid patients because they cost more to care for (gowns, gloves, other PPE, oxygen/respiratory supplies, increased length of stays, etc).

At the beginning man. At the beginning.

...which, then, is irrelevant to deaths in 2022 being "overcounted", which is the claim in the thread here.

Early on, deaths were probably UNDERcounted, based on excess mortality numbers.

Dr. Wen has biases? She's been on cnn since the pandemic began advocating for vaccines. There are many questioning the safety of vaccines, including her. You can be a scientist or a physician and still be critical.
Some people would say being critical is part of the job description for scientists and physicians. Somewhere along the way it was decided that independent thinking, asking critical questions was no longer an accepted practice. We just accept that all doctors are never wrong, the government is here to help, and you are never to question The $cience.

You are clueless.

Congrats. You might have had the benefit of not having nurses leave as traveling nurses. Our systems got quite a bit of PPP but it didn't stretch far because of the expense of Covid. I would ask someone in administration if they actually came out ahead. Edit: The system I work for got $74 million. Again, Covid was VERY expensive.
