Looking for inspiration. Was thinking of paella on the BGE for the 4th. Maybe jerk chicken one day. Snapper Veracruz and ceviche the other day. My fishmonger texted letting me know they are getting fresh blue crabs in regularly.

Heading to NE Iowa tomorrow morning to do some trout fishing with a buddy, so hopefully some fresh trout. That also means my day will be starting out bright and early w/ some Caseys breakfast pizza.
Other than that I'm not real sure. The gf (no pics) wants some more salsa, so I may throw some veggies on the smoker and make a large batch of salsa. I've also been craving some ribs, so I feel like that's gonna have to happen at some point over the next 4 days too.

In no particular order, homemade pizza on the Ooni, Dino Beef Ribs on the smoker, Fish Tacos with grill fish and homemade slaw on them and Brats from this local butcher shop who makes the best brats I have ever had.
Jerk Chicken sounds good though...might do that next weekend.

Going to a beachfront hotel for Mrs. Tradition's (no pics) 60th birthday on Sunday. We'll have a nice dinner and enjoy the beach.

I picked up stuff for burgers and sausages for Sat-Mon. Thinking about doing fajitas for the 4th. I think that would be really tasty.

I have a bit of a history on fishing on the 4th of July weekend and finding rednecks swimming in the streams. I hope you manage to avoid them.

After OP's mom goes to town on me, I plan on making some BBQ and first sweet corn of the year. Before that, taking wife to Indiana Jones in about 20 minutes. Will give reviews of movie and popcorn.
Hopefully we'll avoid them in the streams, but we do always make it a point to stop at a few small town dive bars throughout the day, so we won't be able to avoid em there haha

Brats and burgers for sure. I like the jerk chicken idea, although I’ve never been able to execute it getting crispy skin that is not burnt. Maybe this is the weekend!

I have a buddy that always buys Seneca smokes at Meskwaki Casino. Half part just as a joke for our fantasy league and Seneca Wallace jokes.

Probably some cevapi and carniolan sausage…mix in a little onions and some ajvar and you’ve got a damn good meal. These little dog turds are delicious!
Yep, should be warm in NE Iowa. Haven't looked but I'm guessing the streams will be well stocked with both trout and dumbasses.

I’m at a national conference with 21 of my students soooo…hotel food? Won’t get home until Monday morning but the kids are doing very well so it’s all good.
There are 7,500 HS and MS students here from all over the country. Yesterday they closed down the Chipotle, Smashburger, and Qdobe that are around the corner by 4 pm because all of them ran out of food. 😆

Linguica is good stuff. Heavy to garlic, it is a staple of Portuguese communities. Lots of it in coastal Cali. and Mass. fishing communities.
