What are you reading?

Pretty interesting Sci fi book. Bogs down in technical details sometimes but overall a good read. This is my 2nd time reading it.

Looks like From a Buick 8 is available if you haven't read it. I thought it solid, and a bit underrated.
A week or 2 ago I finished "To sleep in a sea of stars" and I'm not really into sci fi, but that book could have been like 400 pages shorter. And spoiler, the very last sentence ended with "to sleep in a sea of stars" and I almost threw up.

3/5 it was okay. Supposedly it was the best sci fi book of 2020.

I recently finished Green Bone Trilogy (Jade City, Jade War, Jade Legacy) I usually get burnt out on series but this one I read one book after another. Kind of like an Asian version of The Godfather but where Jade gives the wearer powers.

Really good fantasy series although I would say it's pretty light on the fantasy. More character/family dynamics

Last year I didn't finish one book out of all of the books I read. It's called Diavola, it is supposed to be a haunted house type book but turned into a family drama book. I strongly disagree with the positive ratings online.

Loved it. A lot of people disliked the “4000 years later” part but I thought the whole thing was great.

Currently, these two. Both are collections of short stories. One is Lovecraftian weird fiction, the other is bizarro fiction. I like to read short stories before bed.

I listen to audible all the time too. Just finished A Feast For Crows, book 4 of Game of Thrones. I initially read the series years ago before the show came out. I remember hating the book the first time around. I enjoyed it this time around, though 2/3 of Brianne’s chapters still should have been cut.

i read one of series (i think first law) a while back and liked it. is this series as good?
The stand alone books in the First Law world are really good too. Best Served Cold is getting turned into a movie. I highly recommend the audible versions of Abercrombie’s books. Steven Pacey does a great job.

Lincoln on Leadership by Donald Phillips
Speaking of Lincoln, I just finished The Reversal by Michael Connelly and found out that Mickey Haller - the Lincoln Lawyer - is half-brother to Harry Bosch. I'd love to see a cross-over with the two characters' shows but, alas, it appears it won't happen.

Currently The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. I wanted something light and fun. This is a story of a retired female pirate pulled back into the life and getting her old gang back together. Fantasy but takes place on Earth in Middle East area. I'm enjoying it.

Mrs a just started Arthur Koestler’s “Act of Creation”. Looks daunting. I had a little familiarity with koestler and checked out his bio. Good lord. Had no clue of the breadth of things he’d touched - Spanish civil war death sentence, holodomor, postwar cia, founding of Israel, Orwell, prison reform, Timothy Leary, euthanasia, all over the world

I'm about halfway through. It was a slow start but I feel like it's picking up the pace now. It's like she drops little clues on what has happened in the past and I'm trying to piece it together in my mind
