A week or 2 ago I finished "To sleep in a sea of stars" and I'm not really into sci fi, but that book could have been like 400 pages shorter. And spoiler, the very last sentence ended with "to sleep in a sea of stars" and I almost threw up.Looks like From a Buick 8 is available if you haven't read it. I thought it solid, and a bit underrated.
That looks more like a yes album.

3/5 it was okay. Supposedly it was the best sci fi book of 2020.
i read one of series (i think first law) a while back and liked it. is this series as good?I’m reading Joe Abercrombie’s second trilogy, The Age of Madness.
That's funny, he sounded exactly like I expected. Tiny gay white guy? What Sedaris sounds like when I read his books, and what he sounds like when he actually talks is waaaaaay different.
Loved it. A lot of people disliked the “4000 years later” part but I thought the whole thing was great.Pretty interesting Sci fi book. Bogs down in technical details sometimes but overall a good read. This is my 2nd time reading it.
i’ve been reading the same book over the last couple months based on a hrot recommendation. at 90% mark and should finish in a couple weeks. hope the ending is interestingPretty interesting Sci fi book. Jack Vance seems to be my favorite author’s favorite author. He gets referenced a ton by GRRM, Neil Gaiman, Gene Wolfe, etc. That looks more like a yes album.

She should try writing a likeable character.
The stand alone books in the First Law world are really good too. Best Served Cold is getting turned into a movie. I highly recommend the audible versions of Abercrombie’s books. Steven Pacey does a great job.i read one of series (i think first law) a while back and liked it. is this series as good?
yeah pretty sure everyone in this thread is a poser who googled the name of a highfalutin title and posted it before returning to their favorite porn siteDidn’t realize there were so many nerds on HBOT.
I read that a few months ago and enjoyed it. I plan on checking out more by him.Should finish up this one today, very good book
Speaking of Lincoln, I just finished The Reversal by Michael Connelly and found out that Mickey Haller - the Lincoln Lawyer - is half-brother to Harry Bosch. I'd love to see a cross-over with the two characters' shows but, alas, it appears it won't happen.Lincoln on Leadership by Donald Phillips
Is that a safe link to click on? Chuck Tingle? I think I caught that from a stripper when I was in college.
Was very good. Need to read more of her stuff.Currently The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. I wanted something light and fun. This is a story of a retired female pirate pulled back into the life and getting her old gang back together. Fantasy but takes place on Earth in Middle East area. I'm enjoying it.
That guy just quit. Disappointing. The Slow Regard of Silent Things
- Patrick Rothfuss
He's so terrified of not sticking the landing that he can't get himself to send it off to print. That guy just quit. Disappointing.
Is this a standalone story/book set in the same world as his other (incomplete) series? The Slow Regard of Silent Things
- Patrick Rothfuss
Yes. He had released it a short story previously but went back and added ~15000 words IIRC.Is this a standalone story/book set in the same world as his other (incomplete) series?
I'm about halfway through. It was a slow start but I feel like it's picking up the pace now. It's like she drops little clues on what has happened in the past and I'm trying to piece it together in my mindWas very good. Need to read more of her stuff.
