What do we know about Soldier Salute?

He wastes way too much time looking for reversals.
He does… some times he pulls some a amazing stuff doing what I know he’s trying to do, but it’s counter productive at this level…He was fun to watch on bottom at the NAIA level… doesn’t work anymore lol.

Did what he had to tho and is just getting back into things… he’LL get better!

Well, Tom said in a recent interview they want a Holiday Tournament that they know won't get cancelled. I guess in your opinion that's selfish?? In my opinion he's doing what he feels is best for the team.
Schamberger and Eustice will work their asses off to make sure this tournament ends up at a high level. They won't leave any stone unturned to get teams here.
well for tom that’s as good an excuse as any

My gf’s job was to take some pictures tonight at the Soldier Salute, and she ended up with about 5000 pictures of her favorite wrestler, former Hawkeye, Austin Desanto… along with Alex Marinelli… Apparently, he is SO mysterious!

Saw this online:

"UNI wants Iowa, Iowa is hosting a tournament with their 1s at a location that is 1 hour and 20 minute from UNI's campus and UNI didn't send any 1s"

@west2east This you?
Love this post. I have grown so tired of UNI posting or whining about Iowa not wrestling them and Iowa hosts a local tournament and UNI avoids Iowa. This was a good chance for them to make a statement and they passed. Their whining argument lost all credibility in my opinion.

It’s just odd, imo. “We want a holiday tournament that won’t get cancelled?” Is that really the reason he gave? It paints us in a politically radical light, imo.

How so? Everything else was going last year except Midlands which is subject to NW and the state of Illinois. Maybe Tom just wants to get on the other side of this and reassess.

why not have a holiday tournament in the mecha of wreswtling? Hawks Womens team are going to try and win this for the next 50 years and bring in new teams as more schools adopt womens wrestling. Perfect timing for the womens team imo.
And how cool is it that all these future recruits get to see the iowa fanbase and new facility at a tournament swarmed with iowa wrestling fans. Wont be long and i would predict UNI, ISU, MN, NE, IL, etc will be sending their 1s within 5 years.
Lastly, would you rather go to midlands or to x-stream arena as a iowa fan lol. when I was a kid, Midlands was awesome, but its lost is wow effect.

Don't think I've ever seen ADS not wearing wrestling/workout gear. She may be right, he is kinda mysterious.

ADS looks very close to walking out there and asking if he can take over now.

Wanting to wrestle in a tournament that won’t get canceled is a political statement? That sounds like a team that wants to wrestle. Hardly political. This is truly a clown take dub.

There is only one faction of one political party that believes less should have been done to stop the spread of Covid in the initial stages of the pandemic.
Absolutely no one in America wanted to do less to stop the spread of covid in the early stages. There were disagreements on what actually slows or stops the spread. To say otherwise (as you did) is very telling on who is actually radical.

You're right about the cost of skiing, It's disgusting.

At Monarch, our season pass can be had for mid 400's in early season and is likely over 500 now. Of course, unlimited skiing. You too get 3 free days at around 30 other areas, including: Loveland, Copper, Cooper, Purgatory, ABasin etc etc. So, you never really even have to ski Monarch to make it worth it.....but it is worth skiing there as it's on the Divide and gets great snow. Parking is free, and the genre is old time skiing.

And, it's not just the cost of skiing. It's the cost to stay, eat etc. I despise the "corporatization" of the ski industry. Vail is a shitshow and all they've bought. The skiing is mediocre too. When my kids were racing, they got all the edgy magazines. "Freeskier" had an article on the 10 most overrated things in skiing some 20 years ago. #2 was the backbowls of Vail. The comment on it was "Flatter than a Kansas cornfield"........but I digress.

If you want to go skiing, lmk. And BTW, UT skiing is better than CO and a good deal too.
Damn. Does Amica's still brew their Green Chile Beer? That stuff was (is) sooooo good.

Since when did following CDC guidelines or best recommend procedures by medical establishment become radical?

I’m part of the majority. Not here in the cesspool, but in views on pandemic and following best procedures and practices in a novel situation like a pandemic.

Telling the world that you are starting a new tourney to insure it is never cancelled (like the midlands for Covid) is a bit…. odd and perhaps short sighted, imo.

We didn’t really follow best procedures. They all went out the window in place of fear and politics, and for far too long. Turns out, standard practices and know-how on infectious diseases and upper respiratory viruses all generally held. And by December 2021? Please.

Anyway, they are ultimately doing the SS because they think it’s best for the program. No one is even talking about what this might do for recruiting in the age of NIL.

Politics drove the denial. And continue to apparently.
