As good as he was in basketball, with his frame and leaping ability I always thought he could have been an nfl tight end. He had a mean streak too.

He had a great college basketball run and then played professionally overseas for a few years.

Now he works for a financial company in Des Moines.

I used to see him at hyvee in Des Moines every now and then.

And lay off going bald. It happens to the best of us. I saw Tim Dwight in the capital building not too long ago and he was bald as a baby. Still better than Any full headed man with hair ever was.

I am almost bald, been shaving my head for several years now. I doubt Greg would care if someone mentioned it:)

If he didn't have the back injuries, yes, I could see him having been a talented TE.

Cousins George Kittle, Henry Coble Krieger

Funny you should ask OP, I just saw him at the Hawkeye game today! He still looks every inch of 7 feet tall. Nice to see him along with several former players they honored today, including Jeff Horner and Andrew Brommer from that era.

Well it does say Greg Brunner in the title and before his post, Settles was never mentioned. I can see why he was confused.

Seems I recall Brunner having some back issues his last two years at Iowa. Also I'm not 100% sure but I think Brunner was part of Steve Alford's first recruiting class. I don't remember him transferring from ISU. You might be thinking of Adam Haluska.
