Don't really know much about our team. Any superstars? Who replaces the guys we lost?

125-Thomas GIlman, 4th NCAA
133-Cory Clark, Runner Up NCAA
141-Up in the air, Topher Carton, Logan Ryan. Brody Grothus is cutting from 149 and if it works, could do real good things
149-Brandon Sorensen, 4th NCAA
157-Edwin Cooper, Patrick Rhoades
165-Burke Paddock
174-Alex Meyer...beat a couple of top guys last year as Stache's backup, should have a real good season
184-Sammy Brooks-Rd of 12. It's a stacked weight but Sammy has the potential to be a top 4 guys
197-Nathan Burak-Returning AA. Should be a top 4 guy.
HWY-Sam Stoll-RS Freshman

We have question marks at 141 unless Grothus makes the weight and solidifies it, 157,165, and HWY. Most have us in the top 3. Realistic potential champs at 125, 133, 149 and maybe 197 with an emphasis on the first two. Not going to get into too much inside baseball on all the weights but we have a decent team with no real "superstars" in the mold of a Metcalf or Brands. Our guys have a lot to prove.

Penn state fan here...

125 Gilman, title contender

133 Clark, maybe favorite

141 Grothus, Ryan, Carton, biggest ?

149 Sorenson, title contender

157 Cooper, ?

165 Paddock, ?

174 Meyer, weak weight definitely AA

184 Brooks, AA

197 Burak, top 3-4

285 Stoll, possible AA

I was hoping BoJo would stay down. After AD rode him like a mule, it was just a matter of time. AD is a freight train, best to move out of his way. Bo is now the favorite at 74.

I think you are correct...Bo stays up at 174 even though they are saying he might go back down after a bit.

I think the fact that Tom has gone out of his way a couple of times to mention Skyler St. John as a contender for that 57/65 range says a lot about how he has progressed in the room. Excited to see how 157/165 shakes out this year. The same for 141. We know what we have at 6 weights for sure. Can't wait to see how Stoll has come along too, for no reason at all I'm starting to feel more confident Sammy might be able to make a push for the podium. Similar to Kroells from Minnesota last year, had some questionable losses earlier in the season, as well as losses to higher ranked studs, but then grew throughout the season and put it together when it mattered most at the tourny and AA'd. Hope to see Stoll do something similar as a FR, he has a great upper weight coach in big ben to put him in position.

Agree with all you said, but would only add it didn't seem as if AD was having a good ole time while he was on bottom either. IIRC, Ringer took some injury time while on bottom and BoJo took top again. No doubt AD is a stud, but I'm disappointed for a number of reasons if BoJo stays at 174.

I think Ryan with some time is going to be really good. This young man is a brawler and will make some noise in the near future, no question. Anyone that has seen this guy scrap can attest to that.

Agreed with the post but this is the ballgame to me. Go out and take it from people. Prove the Hawkeyes are the best and not just hope people cower at the history. Make new history.

Brands said the same things about Carton last year. It might be a motivational thing.. for Cooper, like it was for Jeva.
