4 of those things are directly from the GQP. Woke by and large is good as well and helps society inch closer to white male privilege status.GREED.
Wealth gap.
Demise of a strong middle class.
Lack of a legit third party.
Religion.
The MAGA Right.
The Woke Left.
Again, like I said in my prior post above. If you had to verify/confirm your identity for social media like you must do to gamble online the trolls/bots go away.Disinformation being spread unchecked by paid propagandists and paid trolls, and then amplified by millions of bots, using our social media and our cable “news”media to create a large chunk of gullible, fearful, angry and easy to manipulate people living in an alternative reality AND an alternative history.
Number 1 with a bullet.
I’m curious what you’re basing this claim off of.It favors the minority party (republicans,) you can’t even argue that.
Those damn Dems. They try to fix things but usually fail.Youre agreeing with my point. We delivered both houses and the presidency to Dems and they will do nothing to counter the biggest set back of rights in 50 years.
Well this thread has certainly turned into an idiots' circle jerk.
Well doneThose damn Dems. They try to fix things but usually fail.
We should throw them out and put the guys who don't try to fix things back in power
Gerrymandering is what makes this possible. Create congressional districts that are close to 50/50 red/blue (wherever possible cuz it’s not possible everywhere) and I think you’d see a lot of this stuff self-correct in or two election cycles.Extremists on both sides making the loudest noises and putting a wedge between left and right, even though those near the center probably have more in common with each other than with the Extremists on their respective sides.
Social media contributes to this.
I have heard it is the love of money. Although I love money and don’t feel evil.I understand the system is pretty messed up. It favors the minority party (republicans,) you can’t even argue that.
However all of the people who are complaining about the recent events and say their vote doesn’t matter, need to stfu.
We have these problems because people refuse to believe their vote doesn’t matter. Republican legislators are just doing what they are elected to do. If you don’t like the outcome, vote for the Democrats.
The root of the problem is the people who elect these officials, and those who refuse to believe their vote doesn’t matter, those who claim it’s “both sides” causing all the problems.
Y’all need to wake tfu.
Almost every answer in this thread sucks.
On the national level presidential candidates with the majority of votes nationally do not always win. Seems like this is the only elected official in your list that this can happen to, because of the EC.America is a democracy which means the political party
with a majority of votes wins elections. On the city level
citizens elect mayors, on the state level they elect governors,
on the national level they elect representatives, senators,
and presidents. Yes, every vote counts and we live with the
results.
A democracy works best when qualified candidates who have
the best interests of the citizens in mind run for office.

You mean two, 2 fake dems. They passed legislation through the House it's dead in the Senate because of ALL REPUBLICANS and 2 Democrats. Please get educated.
Money in politics and conflicts of interest are big problems. It’s congress's fault though, blame them. Otherwise, they aren't motivated to change. Congress accepts the money, allows themselves to be influenced and has the power to change it.We are underestimating the power of lobbyists. Many a freshman senator and representative comes to Washington with hopes of making a difference, but finds themselves having their votes bought by corporations.
Corporate greed rules America.
The actual answer is that mother****er Jean Paul Sartre. He’s the one who got us on this path where Id is the supreme value.
Americans today on the far ends of the political spectrum suffer from a huge amount of cognitive dissonance where cynicism is the rule of the day. Nothing is accepted as "fact" by either side. Case in point is the January 6 hearings. The majority of Republicans won't even watch the hearings dismissing them as a "sham" disregarding the fact that 90% of the testimony has been given by Republicans under oath no less. There is absolutely nothing they will accept that implicates Trump and the fact that they were conned big time by him.
Fake Christian's aka MAGA Evangelicals are the reason for the latter.Amen.
America turning atheist isn't helping much either.

Interesting take. Perchance have you read Samuel p huntingtons “the promise of disharmony”? In it, he argues that Americans have a unique historic case of cognitive dissonance in that our ideals and our institutions never quite match, and it’s a big deal because ideals are the only thing that define us as Americans. Further, he suggests, through a survey of history, that cynicism is but one phase in a recurring cycle. I hope so.Americans today on the far ends of the political spectrum suffer from a huge amount of cognitive dissonance where cynicism is the rule of the day. I think You might enjoy this lecture given to the dc area order of Malta, of which mrs aardvark is a dame.Pope Benedict on modern atheist societies, 2019:
"A society without God - a society that does not know Him and treats Him as non-existent - is a society that loses its measure. In our day, the catchphrase of God's death was coined. When God does die in a society, it becomes free, we were assured. In reality, the death of God in a society also means the end of freedom, because what dies is the purpose that provides orientation. And because the compass disappears that points us in the right direction by teaching us to distinguish good from evil.
Western society is a society in which God is absent in the public sphere and has nothing left to offer it. And that is why it is a society in which the measure of humanity is increasingly lost. At individual points it becomes suddenly apparent that what is evil and destroys man has become a matter of course."
- Pope Benedict, 2019
Americans, good at knowing there is a problem, but bad at identifying and solving problems.
Americans don't agree on much of anything these days.
Most of us agree that 9-11 was an inside job and that something about jet fuel and steel beams.
