What was the first Super Bowl you remember watching?

I got all except the Lions, Jets, Browns and Chiefs
Raiders: Casper
Bears: Payton
Jets: Todd
Bucs: Doug Williams
Wash: Theism
Oilers: Campbell
Dolphins: Griese

I want to say Tony Eason for Patriots and Jim Everett for Rams but I think those are wrong. All others complete blanks.

The Chiefs, Browns, Lions and Jets stumped me.

34 Bears- Walter Payton
10 Falcons- Steve Bartkowski
17 Cardinals- Jim Hart
11 Rams- Pat Haden
8 Saints- Archie Manning
10 Seahawks- Jim Zorn
12 Buccaneers- Doug Williams
53 Broncos- Randy Gradishar*
7 Colts- Bert Jones
17 Eagles- Harold Carmichael
34 Oilers- Earl Campbell
14 Chargers- Dan Fouts
14 Patriots- Steve Grogan
87 Raiders- Dave Casper
12 Dolphins- Bob Griese

The first I actually remember was the first Steelers/Cowboys SB...was it SB X? My favorite was the next year, SB XI

Super Bowl 1.....Green Bay smoked the Chiefs, as expected....Lombardi smiled after that one.....the game was played as the Coliseum in LA and not sold out...not even close....I believe the tix were $10/seat.
Super Bowl 2....The Pack smoked Oakland and they picked on the Raider secondary....because the Raiders said it was the best in pro football, I think....Lombardi smiled afterwards again.....
Super Bowl 3...the most memorable SB ever......Joe Willy did beat the Colts, as he predicted.....Jets were huge 'dogs and won the game rather easily.

I should have guessed Fouts. Fücking James Harden should wear a Fouts T-shirt if he wants me to like him more. A Fouts shirt and then this guy:

I have this card, too.

I've been watching the NFL Network's presentation of all the Super Bowl's, the NFL Films coverage from the 70's and 80's are awesome.

The first Super Bowl I remember watching, and really knowing what was going on was Super Bowl X, Dallas and Pittsburgh, 1976. I think I was in 2nd grade.

It was great watching all the old footage of the games. The NFL was so much more fun to watch back then! It was really interesting seeing how much the game has changed, in terms of what players are forbidden to do now. The taunting, illegal hits, vicious hits, etc., are all there. I saw Fran Tarkenton and the Vikings playing Oakland in SB XI and there were some bell-ringing, targeting hits that were perfectly legal!

Jack Tatum- The assassin!

What was your first Super Bowl?
Super Bowl IX - Vikings and Steelers.

The '76 Steeler vs. the Cowboys was memorable for me because I had just went to work for HJ Heinz and all the upper management types were big Steelers fans so the party was at the plant manager's house. Heinz also had a distribution center in Grand Prairie, Texas where the bean counting part of the office came from. Of course being a Packer fan I knew both were a bunch of losers so I sat quietly by while they threatened each other. They were hard core. We had to drink Iron City beer which the manager had trucked in from Pittsburg with a load of catsup. Nasty sh!t......

Browns is Greg Pruitt.
LIons is Gary Danielson
Jets is Richard Todd.

Still can't think of Chiefs running back from the 70s.

Jets were my first favorite NFL team. They had Gastineau, Klecko roided up doing sack dances, Freeman McNeil was dynamic, Richard Todd then Ken O'Brien, Wes Walker was good. Seemed like every year they had some crazy game with Miami.

I went to a few games several years ago when Shonn Greene was there and I was living in NYC. Saw them beat Miami, Greene had a good game, and then like a month later lost to Patriots. Greene was good in that game, too but they threw it like 50 times. Brady and Gronk were studs. Crazy both are still doing it.

XVIII Was the first one that I watched the whole game and half way understood what was going on. I was 10 and I was a Redskin fan since I was born in DC.
I remember Jim Plunkett and the Raiders dancing while Celebration by Koop and the Gang played.
Ironic how 16 years later I would be a Raider season ticket holder and would meet Plunkett and get his autograph and picture taken with him.

Raiders v. Vikings is the one that sticks with me. I was 8 years old and starting to appreciate the game. Became a Raider fan because of that game. So many great players/characters on those John Madden teams of the Late 70's/Early 80's ...
Stabler, Casper, Biletnikoff, Branch, Shell, Hendricks, Tatum, Hayes, even Ray Guy was cool.

Met "the Stork" Hendricks and a ST player Ron Huddleston, when I was just a kid, maybe 10 years old when we stopped by the Hereford House in KC after a Raiders-Chiefs game one year. I think I still have the napkin with their signatures somewhere.

I used to watch the AFL games before the leagues merged. Fun as hell. Darryl (The Mad Bomber) Lamonica deep to Freddie Biletnikoff was awesome. Who was the long time Raider’s center?
Pops took me to an AFL all star game in Jax one year and we saw BIg Ben Davidson sporting his signature handle bar stash outside of a motel. Fun as hell...

I met Ben Davidson when he rode ragbrai in the 80s. He said he was a football player for the Raiders and I got his autograph. I had never heard of him, I was only 10 maybe. I have never heard his name again in 31 years until just now with this post. I remember the mustache too.

I was a senior in high school when the first NFL-AFL Championship game was played in January 1967.

That was so long ago it was before the Ice Bowl.

I think the first Superbowl was in 1969. A truly rememberable game.

Vikings-Chiefs
I have been watching some of the earlier Super Bowls on NFL network. I know more players from seventies than now. Rarely watch NFL anymore.

I think Superbowl 27. I say that because I remember it was the Bills and the Cowboys and I remember watching the Superbowl after that and thinking "The same teams again??"

It's possible I might have seen SB's before that and not remembered because I didn't really follow the NFL. Also I do remember having the sense that the Bills had been there a lot but lost a lot.
