Jered Cortez to ??
Reyes to Northern Colorado
Article on Flo (link). 2 pretty highly rated recruits transferring out.

I liked Pyles explanation on FloRadio this morning. Cortez can't make 25 and can't beat out Richards at 33. Makes sense to me.

How about this wild rumor...only rumor NO FACT --- Mark Cody to Fresno St... Mark Perry to Oklahoma....

Yeah maybe. Except for the part about having to live in California.
I resent that! Right who would want 75-80 degree weather year round and an insane amount of beautiful women? I spent last weekend in Santa Barbara and then right on to San Diego, yeah Cali's pretty miserable alright.

I knew I couldn't read a sentence about California without the word insane being used.....;)

Ive been to many places in this country and have yet to find one as great to live in as San Diego. Weather is perfect and the same each day. Its like groundhogs day.

I could see why someone would want to coach in California over Oklahoma. In Oklahoman, yes you get some good recruits in a wrestling die hard state but much like Iowa the level of talent can be up and down compared to the consistency of a Ohio, PA or an Illinios or a a California even. CAli wont put out the same quantity like a OH or a PA but what Cali does is put out 1 or 2 real studs a year. You start keeping home a Valencia, Welch, Varner, Mejia, Nevills, Mendes, Abas, etc type and you got something.

Likewise OU is there states ISU in wrestling. Why be 2nd fiddle in our own state in recruiting. Why should a Cael Sanderson or a Cody keep banging their head against the wall instate vs the powerhouses that are Iowa & OK st traditionally. Its a bad recipe.

SO IMO that Fresno could be a great job if the right recruiter is coaching there. Why cant Fresno do what ASU is doing? All who the coach is. Simple as that.

That being said if Perry is really leaving Champaign it must be something to do with Perry isn't getting the reins handed over to him like maybe he thought Hefernan would do or maybe said. Im just speculating but im guessing that. Much like Barry Davis and his top ast a few years ago. Sometimes these coach in waiting's overrun the waiting. The reason I say that. Illinois is a sleeping monster of a job with that states talent level anymore. They are top dogs. Oklahoma Sooner, not so much. 2nd fiddle and not as consistent with instate talent as Illinois.

I think the big announcement is likely Isaiah White commiting to be an Illini. I could be wrong and if I am shall Papa bear slap me down to earth.

Fresno is in the Central Valley in CA...I love CA but wouldn't live in Fresno. San Diego or Orange County, and maybe NorCal up in the Red Bluff area. This only applies if their state government wasn't on crack though.

This. I loved living in San Diego. And most of coastal Cali is great. Fresno is a dumpster fire of a city. It's a poor farming city surrounded by drought.

Fresno is an absolute hole of city. It crime ridden, has a horrific gang problem and the drought has hit the farming community there pretty hard. A lot of those northern cali farming towns are pretty bad. Modesto, Vacaville, Bakersfield, Merced and Hanford are all pretty bad places to be these days. For Fresno St. to draw out of state kids and even in-state kids from nicer areas, they will need top notch recruiting and great coaches. Guys will have to go in knowing there's not much else to do, but the wrestling there is great.

what I am hearing is if Terry Brands started up a wrestling program at San Diego St they would be a powerhouse.

So random question but what city is Cal Poly in?

If true, Perry's becoming quite the nomad. Nothing wrong with it I guess but if I we're recruiting against him I'd sure let the kid know not to plan on having Mark there to coach him all 4-5 years.
My assumption is his personality starts to wear on others after a few years combined with him seemingly always looking for the next best opportunity?

If Terry went to SDSU...I'd buy Aztec gear tomorrow just to have an excuse to make the five hour drive from my house.

I would think Illinois would be at an all time high with what Delgado and Imar have accomplished, surprising to see them unraveling so quickly.

Just when you think they're down.. they snag 3 top 100 recruits - Intermat
No. 46 Dylan Duncan (Montini Catholic, Ill.) - 133
No. 61 Travis Piotrowski (Prairie Ridge, Ill.) - 125
No. 74 Mike Carr (South Fayette, Pa.) - 141/149
