Whats Your Lineup Now?

It actually says more about the transfer climate than either of them.
First of all I don't think C-Mac is very good. Unless he shoots around 40% from 3 he will never be starting B1G material IMO. All that doesn't change what he was rated during high school. During his freshman AAU season he was rated a top 25 player by ESPN along with being a 4* for a few years. Seems like coaches kids are fundamentally superior a lot of times as they grow up so it probably makes them look more talented than they really are. I.E- Jake Christensen and Connor. As far as Moss goes if u factor in how many times we've collapsed down the stretch it shows me either our players are mentally weak, get physically burnt out or Players get sick of Fran. Could be a combination of those things but u would think Fran could change something to avoid those things from happening. I can't remember a 3 year starter leaving a team after just playing in the tournament and set to challenge for the league title the next year with a few breaks. Makes u wonder if Francis leaving bothered Moss. I think we should have 2 younger assistant coaches ( atleast 1 being black ) and 1 older former head coach like Speraw or Dillard.

Moss told Fran he wanted to be a featured senior scorer- I imagine similar to what he’d seen happen with White, Uthoff, Jok. But in those cases, they were the most advanced scorers on their teams. Not so on the 2019-20 team, where JW, Garza, JB could claim to be more dangerous scorers. So, Moss left for a place where he could be featured. Judging from his entering NBA evaluation last year, he still has NBA aspirations and figures he needs a high-scoring senior year to get better consideration by the pros.

The Moss situation doesn't look very good for Fran and Connor is not very good but he was a 4* for a couple years in high school by more than one service. Other than the very best 5 or 10 blue bloods Pat and Wieskamp both probably could have picked any school in the country and Connor probably could have gotten an offer from about half ( 25% for sure ) of the power 5 schools. Just my opinion but I'm sorry I didn't ask LEGEND for his approval before I hit Post Reply. Between LEGEND, CyTwins and Trump those 3 guys have forgotten more than the rest of the world knows combined. Seems like the majority of the D-Bags on this board enjoy insulting or one-upping other Hawk fans more than they do having positive conversations. That being said, Tuck Frump-Go Hawks.

It wouldn't suprise me if u were right but I still don't think it looks good on Frans coaching ability.

What those 90s teams did was mix in good black athletes to go with there skilled but a step slow white kids. Not that it's ever going to be an exact science but I'd like to see atleast 1/3 of the team be really athletic defensive minded players that can be average shooters but slasher/dunkers.. Wieskamp, Nunge, Garza, Pat and CJ could be really good if mixed with an athletic shot blocker/ post defender, Slasher/ wing defender and another PG like Joe T. If we can get DJ Harvey, Foster and another jitterbug PG we could be really good in 20/21 and maybe even better the following year.

I'd rather focus on basketball skills than the post modern obsession with race. Iowa needs good players. Most of Iowa's players come from the state of Iowa. Iowa is like 98% white so most basketball players in Iowa are white hence the most likely Iowa recruit is a white kid from Iowa.

I ask everyone again, do you really think that McC is passing on superior black players to recruit inferior white players?

Ronnie Lester,Freddy Brown,Johnny Johnson,Sam Williams Roy Marble, Eddie Horton,Kevin Gamble,Greg Stokes,Mike Payne, ect. ..all out of state black players who led the best Hawk teams. Lute and Raveling did not feel compelled to limit recruiting to white Iowa players, neither did Hoiberg or Prohm. I do not think Fran is doing by design but he has not figured it out yet.

Connor was a 4* on Rivals. They remove players who don’t sign from the Rivals150. The entire 2017 class was in the Rivals150 after the final update.
