Where Did You Live in IC?

Lived at Lakeside for awhile now Dolphin Point( I see the dolphins swimming in the cesspool they have for a pond on my way to work ( alcohol helps). Was a great place to live. The roaches would help you carry your groceries in.

Mayflower first 2 years, then 806 E. College, and last 2 years at 601 S. Gilbert, which was convenient because I worked at The Vine right next door. The amount of drunk co-eds on penny pitcher night ....

I miss Iowa City. What a great college town.

S409 Hillcrest. Lakeside Manor. 637 S. Dodge. Westwinds. Murphy's basement.

The thing about Iowa City...when you go back and if you are like me, there are memories EVERYWHERE! I can still remember being at specific parties at various houses and apartment buildings when I drive by them 25 years later.

You must all be young pups! In grad school, I lived across (south) from the Pentacrest. Jacksons was a gift store (?) on the first floor and the 2nd and 3rd had 'rooms' for $50 a month. Common bathroom and kitchen.
It was fine for me - money was first factor. Second factor - I could get up at 9 and be sitting in class at 9:15!!!

I had really good luck with living in IC in the mid-late 90's. Lived off Dodge one year in an apartment by the park, across from Gumby's over Hoge Construction near the Vine, had a top floor one bedroom to myself that had a fireplace and wood floors on Ellis, and rented a house with friends right across from North Market Park on Fairchild. I'd go back to those days in a heartbeat.

Rienow 9, S Gilbert above what was then Firewater, 2 years in a apartment in one of the alleys at Bowery and Dodge, and then Grandview Ct over on the west side.

Loved living at Bowery and Dodge, easy walk to the Club Car, Vine, and Falbo's on the way home.

Currier, then Quad. Moved with 3 friends to a house on Linn Street right by the Vine. Called it the refrigerator. Sadly, the memories are all that's left of that place. Then lived in a house on Muscatine at the intersection of College and Muscatine. GREAT house, well built, not completely trashed. Kind of a hike to campus, but was a great place. Went a final semester and lived in an apartment on Iowa Avenue that I think is now torn down.

What a great college town. Would go back in time if I could, but would probably want to have a button that I could push at any time to get right back to where I am now....

Red brick apartments on Woolf Ave across the street from the VA hospital and Dental Building. Close to Kinnick and Carver. On a side note, during my college years I worked at a place in North Liberty called BCI and we built the Pentacrest Apartments.

I lived in Coralville for a year north of I35 it was a cool house just sucked driving downtown. Then moved to another house off sycamore on Gleason Drive. Man if those walls could talk. Then moved to Benton street across the street from the Seville. It was a nice apartment. Good walk down to Mumm's. Miss that place.

Currier for two years and then an apartment on S. Johnson. Good times.

The Field House was basically a second home in my time at Iowa, as I probably spent about as many hours there as I did at my apartment/dorm if I were to divide up the average time I spent at various locations on campus. (the ped mall was probably third....)

I also liked having unlimited access to the Journalism Building my junior year.

4400 Floor of Burge, next to bathrooms. (Vomiting on Friday and Saturday nights.)
1104 Rienow for 2 years
Room in Mrs Roberts House on Melrose across from old Field house and hospital parking lot - can't remember address!
Hillsboro West Apts on West Benton
221 E Fairchild upper story of house (with bats).
