Neither Party should be Christian. There is no place for any religion in politics..just as there should be no place for politics in any legit religion.

No. I didn't make the claim. That was @noStemsnoSTICKS. I provided scripture evidence which I believe supported his statement. You, on the other hand, have provided nothing but opinion. Probably because you know you have nothing but your biased opinion.
Does it matter in a country that has separation of the govt from religion? Go to your church when you want but dont bring your church and religion into the govt. Too much of that already.
Religion is not a proven thing. Citizens who dont have enough food and enough clean water is a fact.
I certainly dont see very many zealot REpubs you know the big time christians giving away all their money to help the poor. Actually it is the opposite that the REpubs are so greedy that all they want to do is tax cuts to the wealthy. That isnt christian. They are phony fake christians

I grew up in the Catholic church and now consider myself "agnostic"/secular, but I wouldn't say I'm anti-religious. In fact, I wish I were religious because I miss some of the community aspects of it, but I admittedly would need to overcome some cognitive dissonance. A lot of good values were taught to me as a kid. However, it has become more and more clear through my adulthood that many of those values are designed to promote and control good behavior so parents don't have to deal with their kids' BS/trouble. Many of the values that are preached to children (respect for others, being a good steward of the earth and community, etc.) take a back seat to many in my family and friend circles who seem to subscribe to the "ends justify the means" philosophy.
