Who called the charge on Connor?

Its on both of them that it came to this, but Pfeiffer shouldn't be allowed to work any more Iowa games.

That call was pure pettiness. Especially the way he emphatically over-exaggerated the charge gesture like 10 times in a row.

Not trying to be sarcastic here, but how many different officials have Iowa fans said they should never be allowed to work another Iowa game?

Jim Bain (long ago)? Valentine? Pfeiffer? Who else? At some point we aren’t going to have any officiating crews left.

The fact that people actually think he would make a call to spite Fran and Iowa is hilarious to me. You realize that every call, of every game, that these guys do is graded and their assignments and/or job are dependent on how they do? You think he, or any other official, is willing to risk that by purposely making the wrong call? I’m sure you all think the officials at your kids youth and high school games are out to get your team too.

He's terrible regardless. THAT is the takeaway.

To spite Fran or not, it was still clearly the wrong call, so ....

🤷‍♂️

Incompetence or bias. Take your pick.

You just described pretty much every parent of an athlete and every fan base. It’s strange that both teams today felt they got screwed by the officiating ( if you can stand to read the Husker board)

If connor and teammates could play perimeter defense and weren't ridiculously slow on their rotations it doesn't matter at all. Blaming the refs when shitty coaching is the culprit is just a bitch move. It's what cryclowns do. Bad calls are a fact of life in bball, good programs overcome them

Oh and they were down 4 with 16 seconds left when that happened. Still would have taken some things to go their way even if he calls the block

The Clowns are notorious for this. Unfortunately our fans are too.

I’m not arguing that it was the correct call or not. I just can’t believe that people believe someone would risk their job to stick it to a coach or player. Just say it was an awful call, not that he made the call because Fran stared at him.

What official has ever suffered a consequence for making a shitty call? The over/under is 0.5.

Making that call was probably borderline erotic for the guy.

If you have ever met people, this wouldn’t be in the top 1 million things done that seems stupid/ridiculous/petty.

Of course, Iowa did much more to lose the game than Kelly.

I 100% don't believe that this takes place in any sort of serious capacity.

The proof is the product.

In any given college game there are multiple atrocious charges called just like the one in question and it never changes.

The ncaa comes out with new points of emphasis every year and these guys ignore them and then it just goes away.

If there was any serious oversight and penalization the changes would be implemented not disappear.

Refs have no repercussions for any bad calls so there's no risk in losing one's job...
What should the repercussions be? There would be no refs to work games because they all make mistakes.

There is no way he made that call to stick it to Fran, he called what he saw at the time. I think it was the wrong call unfortunately. The game overall I felt leaned in Iowas favor with the refs.

I think the problem with the officiating is that the big ten needs to expand their pool of refs. Guys shouldn’t work the same team more than 2-3 times a year in my opinion. I ref varsity basketball and some college jv and I hate to do a team more than two times in a year. Some of these guys are going on 5+ games with one team.

I don’t care it is still embarrassing to ever lose to Nebraska. Funny thing is it will probably work out that we will play both Nebraska and Wisconsin in BTT and win both

Well, we are talking about a charge call after Iowa had countless chances to extend leads. We SUCKED today. The officals didn't make us take and miss bad shots.

We had 21 offensive boards and caused a bunch of turnovers. This should have easily been a 20 point game and it wasn't. That had nothing to do with the refs.

Agreed. I think they missed this call…but I think they “just” missed it. No other agendas.

Please list the last time ANY one of these officials "lost their job" or faced anything from these obvious bad calls. Your making an argument using a penalty that simply doesn't exist, and we all know it, including you.

Play crappy ball, miss free throws, and leave up to the refs. Not a good combination. Yes I thought it was a shit call, but that's what you get. What 08 said.

What's hilarious to me are people who believe that biased behavior is solely a conscious decision.
