WHO IS CONNOR BETTS?

So, not a "MAGA", but a registered Dem.
I think this may turn out to be aimed at his sister, actually.

I believe this 24 year old was working directly for the DNC too, mom. He was chair of the DNC Domestic Policy unit. Yeah..that’s what he was. How many times have siblings threatened to kill each other, mom? Well, he proved to be a man of his word!

Did this Betts guy say he was going to go kill people for political reasons? I feel like I'm missing something here?

So now political affiliation doesn’t matter to democrats, because I could be wrong but in previous mass shootings their political ideology is brought up especially if they are conservative

Can you share multiple stories of this happening across our country killing thousands a year?
we had some idiot do it here in Austin a few years ago at south by southwest. drove into the crowd. thousands a year is irrelevant. one is too many. the guy in Charlottesville used a car. killed one too many. guys going into wal marts, shooting one person is too many. we actually had a guy a few years ago here in Austin, walk in a wal mart. killed one guy. it was an off duty cop if I recall correctly who died. one too many. the issue isn't the car or the gun or the knife. the issue isn't one or a thousand deaths. the issue is one is too many. I know what causes this and the solution ut if I posted it you guys would say I'm crazy.

Depends on the circumstances and why they did it. I don't think there is any reach to tie Trump rhetoric to El Paso. At this point, I'm not seeing the connection between Warren's rhetoric/politics and the shooting.

proof? boy, the cnn's of the world sure are reaching and twisting to try and try

Aaaaand the president just confirmed the manifesto in his address of the nation. Are you now willing to concede it's real?
yes I heard that. ten bucks says he walks that one back. nobody has confirmed that. how can he be sure? he will be walking that one back for sure.

I agree with this but look back on other mass shootings, Republicans/conservatives are always thrown under the bus if the perp. is a conservative, even if their political affiliation had nothing to do with it

I support gun control for everybody, regardless of political affiliation. The constitution allows that guns can be owned, it doesn’t mean we can’t heavily regulate it. I don’t care who you vote for, if the current policies don’t work, change course. Some things are rights, but also privileges, and firearms need to move into that category. To own a firearm, you should need training, liability insurance, and accept mandatory safety requirements. In other words, guns need to be locked up, and when not used disabled to prevent fatal accidents. Period.

Conservatives are the ones constantly demanding access to guns for everyone, so yes, they're going to get blamed when people get shot up in preventable situations, and especially when people doing it are riles up over the talking points the Democrats throw out there.

Honestly, there seem to be two major indicators of mass gun violence in America today.

1. Angry, White Nationalist men with easy access to guns.
2. Angry, White Incels with easy access to guns.

Did this Betts guy say he was going to go kill people for political reasons? I feel like I'm missing something here?

No, it's just the typical whataboutism game that the Magats love to play. You have two who repeat Drumpf immigration talking points as part of their manifestos and citing white nationalist propaganda who go on to specifically target and murder Hispanics. And then on the other side you have one who appears not to be politically motivated but likely just seeking the notoriety/is angry at women because he can't get laid but because that one is a leftist the Magats say "See we're the same, you can ignore our inflammatory racist rhetoric."

But I can hold two thoughts or even more in my head at the same time. The crux of this problem IS what I said, that these "losers" are too hatefilled to begin with because they are angry that they can't sleep with women so all it takes is a little pushing in one direction and then they go off and grab easily accessible mass murder weapons to go shoot up a crowded public space and make a name for themselves. So that IS 90% of the problem.

But the other 10% is the encouragement and pushing they get from angry hatefilled rhetoric. And right now it's mainly coming from Drumpf and the other Magat supporting Republicans and their white nationalist base. They're not the only ones sending off these losers, there is a 4 and 8chan incel culture/"gamer" culture that has been also sending off people to kill in the name of misogyny and not just racism. Connor Betts isn't the first and he won't be the last until something is done with the encouragement they're getting on 4 and 8 Chan (ie lawsuits to shut down individuals if not whole sites that are reckless in their encouragement of violence).

When he was in High School he made a list of girls he wanted to rape. Also people he wanted to kill. Authorities pulled him off a school bus and was removed from school for a year. I assume juvie and mental health rehab. Came back to school and graduated. I'm guessing he went off his medication at some point.

There are reportedly over 300 million firearms in this country. Unless you have some way to collect them all, I have a good reason to have one - to protect myself. I'm glad I have the right to do that, and don't have to provide a reason to you.

Perhaps you can provide a reason to the families in Dayton, El Paso, Parkland, San Bernardino, and on and on why these guns are needed in our society. What value do they bring other than to mow down dozens of humans in as little amount of time as possible? When has one of these guns been used for good?

San Bernardino, pulse nightclub, naval shipyard, fort hood, Virginia tech, and those are just off the top of my head proves you're both dishonest and wrong... and part of the problem.

Guns are used for self defense all the time.

If any of the family members asked why I needed a gun, I'd tell them I need it to protect myself from the kind of people who murdered their loved ones.

I've never heard of an AR-15 type weapon being used in self defense, other than Comando and Rambo and films like it.

I'm fine with shotguns for sport but you guys with your hero fantasies and war guns; these things are only used to kill mass humans as quick as possible and you have no need for one. People are dying and families lives are destroyed but you selfish guys would rather polish your gun you'll never use then actually think of the greater good. I'll make sure to send thoughts and prayers if God forbid a member of your family is mowed down by some guy who should never have been able to get one of these human killers.

You haven't heard of it, and that's what you base your opinion on?

An AR-15 is not an automatic weapon.

Read the link. Even if the numbers are off by 1000%, it's still a number that's meaningful. If I never have to use a firearm to defend myself, I'll be happy about that. I'd rather have a firearm and not need it.

Anecdotal evidence - my girlfriend was jogging and a guy started following her, cutting across paths to intercept her. She was carrying a handgun. She stopped and asked the guy what he wanted. He didn't answer, but started creeping toward her. She pulled the gun and the guy ran. She didn't report it.

You most likely forgot about them because they're a non-threat and haven't murdered anyone or got on tv to promote prejudice lately.

They just assaulted a person and gave him a head bleed, resulting in an ICU admission. No biggie though

Your girlfriend jogs with a gun? Jesus, I bitch about my iPod Nano being a pain in the ass to jog with. She’s a stud.

Heavy.com got access to the shooter’s social media. Contrary to the media narrative currently boiling over, this shooter was not a Trump fan. In fact, he hated Trump, hated Republicans, was an avowed leftist, used antifa style language in his posts, and loved Elizabeth Warren.

Here’s some of what was found.

Bett’s Twitter profile read, “he/him / anime fan / metalhead / leftist / i’m going to hell and i’m not coming back.” One tweet on his page read, “Off to Midnight Mass. At least the songs are good. #athiestsonchristmas.” The page handle? I am the spookster. On one selfie, he included the hashtags, “#selfie4satan #HailSatan @SatanTweeting.” On the date of Republican Sen. John McCain’s death, he wrote, “F*ck John McCain.”

On Nov. 2, 2018, he wrote: “Vote blue for gods sake.”

Ironically, he was even a rabid supporter of gun control, using it to levy attacks against Republicans.

“This is America: Guns on every corner, guns in every house, no freedom but that to kill,” he wrote in December 2018. And, “’Tis! The pistol is a Beretta 93R, called the REK7 in BO4. Do love me some guns!” He also wrote, “Hammer, brick, gun.” On Feb. 14, 2018, he tweeted this at Sen. Rob Portman: “@robportman hey rob. How much did they pay you to look the other way? 17 kids are dead. If not now, when?” That was the date of the mass shooting at a school in Parkland, Florida…

He used language often used by Antifa, exclaiming that he wants to “kill every fascist.” He also liked and commented on posts expressing support for the group.

“#2016ElectionIn3Words This is bad,” he wrote on Nov. 8, 2016. “You can’t kill 50+ people and injure 600(!) In 10 minutes with cigarettes my dude,” he wrote in 2017. In response to a Buzzfeed story that read, “Virginia has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the “Unite the Right” rally anniversary in Charlottesville this weekend,” he wrote: “Kill every fascist.”

Betts was a politically active socialist who supported Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

On the Twitter page, Connor Betts indicated he’d vote for Elizabeth Warren for president but not Kamala Harris, responding to a person’s tweet suggesting they be co-presidents. “Nahh, but only cuz Harris is a cop – Warren I’d happily vote for,” he wrote.

He responded to a person’s tweet that read “if you nominate anyone other than sanders, you’re going to lose” by writing, “I think Warren has a decent shot, as well.” Some of his tweets referred to guns.

He was a fan of “The Squad,” Including Rep. Ocasio Cortez and Rep. Omar.

He shared an article that criticized Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi for not supporting Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley. “Read it,” he wrote. He shared posts about “concentration camps” at the border and wrote, “Cut the fences down. Slice ICE tires. Throw bolt cutters over the fences.”

He retweeted a post from another person about stealing from “right wingers” at a Trump rally.

This all leaves very little question about who Betts really was. He was absolutely a far leftist. He was not a white supremacist and hated religious people. He repeated antifa, as well as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez talking points on his social media. He was a global warming enthusiast and an avowed socialist. Every piece of evidence we have points to his radicalization coming via the left, not the right.

Calling bullshit on your anecdote. Good lord. Where the hell do you live and who is she? Mexico City and some major drug player's daughter?

He's talking about the guy who follows them around claiming to be a reporter. The day of the El Paso shooting his big scoop was that "Antifa" was stomping on car windshields in Portland. Even though the story was days old and there was zero proof it was tied to Antifa.

there was an Antifa person who whacked somebody on the head with a bike lock and I think they got convicted of it
