Who should Jan go after in the portal

Have you watched some of the best freshmen in the conference this year? The top players coming in are more than capable. Addie Deal is on that level.

I have not really seen Addie Deal play so I sure hope you are right and she can fill that role next year. Sometimes it does takes longer for freshman to adjust. There are some good freshman out there this year who are doing it. We will watch one tonight from Nebraska. I just do not see one on our roster right now.

That hasn’t been much of a problem for Iowa WBB.

I think they need another player like Lucy Olsen who can make plays on their own. We have a bunch of role players now who can not generate any offense when the shot clock runs down or take over a game. We had Caitlan Clark for four years and Lucy is the only player I see now who can give you one on one offense like she did against USC. Everyone else on the roster is a role player. Guyton comes closest to someone who can make a play. Unless Addie Deal can fill that role as a freshman which I doubt. I love Hannah but even if she developed a shot like AOG her quickness is lacking against quicker 4's in the conference. Just my opinions.

Everything that I have read on Deal is that she's a plug and play starter on day one.

Syla Swords from Michigan is sensational if you haven’t seen her play. Closest thing to CC currently in college. NOT CC but similar game & swagger.

I think she’s handed the keys from day 1.

An assistant coach who will help her keep track of opponents who are in foul trouble early in the game that they could isolate, reminders when there are fouls to give in a half that will not put the opponent on the line, and using situational timeouts near the end of a game, when we start to get tied up during a double team, or when the other team unexpectedly presses.

Meh, middle of the pack doesn’t really mean a great deal. These players don’t think like fans. They just want to play and they know if they have a competitive team or not.
