I know this is a crap shoot but these 2 are very similar in many ways, height about the same (Eppy is obviously heavier now) but Waggoner I am sure will need up to 270 playing weight and after He’s Doyleized for a year I am sure he will be the same size as Eppy.. so my questions are (as I don’t know as much about Wags as I did Eppy coming in what are Wags strengths and weaknesses (now comparing to Eppy) is he faster off the line than Eppy? How’s his strength and speed? Bull rush looks awesome in his highlight videos.. these 2 may be apples vs oranges but I wouldn’t mind seeing some opinions from Hawkeye fans on Waggoner.. all I know is this tandem could be a sick vicious defense with these 2 on each end ripping through opponents olines like a hot knife through butter...

We have know idea on how it turns out but my opinion is Eppy and Wirfs turn out to be great hawkeye's base on being great all around High School athletics.
These type of kids that are multi sport stars seem to have the edge on the rest of the field

What little I've seen of Waggoner has left me underwhelmed, so I'd so Eppy for sure. But I hope Waggoner earns his scholly and turns out to be a major contributor.

Eppy!

Well ... we've already had the benefit of seeing AJ for a college season so far. AJ had something like 4.5 sacks and 7-9 QBH ... as a true freshman!

Waggoner may develop into a great DE for us ... but, right now, there's plenty of "proof in the pudding" to indicate that we already have a special one in Eppy!

I really don't know if they're similar players or not. One alternative thought - maybe they have complimentary skillsets and given DL is a position that requires a lot of rotating in and out, they can help Iowa be a full eight deep without much of a drop off?

Absolutely will be a key for the strength of Iowa's D moving forward ... better depth with less drop-off. That has cost us in the W-L column in the past.

It's not a crap shoot. In fact, I don't think it is even close. AJ all the way.
