NW is missing their old DC big time and has a pretty unathletic roster compared to Nebby. Even Frost can't screw this up.
With that said an incredible line Nebraska +13.5?
Many of you apparently don’t know this but as much as Pat Fitzgerald has done for Northwestern there are the same percentage of fans 15 to 20% that continually lament Pat Fitzgerald!
If Nebraska comes out and rolls them I’m not really sure what to think… On one hand Northwestern notoriously starts extremely slow on the other hand I honestly don’t know… I’m not sure the outcome of this game will tell us much about any of these teams!
However, I am pulling Northwestern and I honestly can’t stand Northwestern as a football or basketball program!!
Nebraska wins like 31-10 or something. Pulling for NW however.
Fitz is smart and Frost is dumb, take the Wildcats.
Mike Hankwitz was a huge loss for Northwestern. My guess is that it'll be something like 27-10 Nebraska.
I'm usually wrong on predictions for what its worth. I think both start slow not because the defenses are good but the offenses are making mistakes. Overthrows and negative plays on early runs. In the late first qtr or into the 2nd both get into a rhythm. The difference is one team converts more red zone chances into TDs and the other into FG. 24-20 Nebraska. I wouldn't be surprised if one or both miss a key fg.
nebraska has been busy in the offseason. from what we know they likely have the best ol in b1g, 2nd best qb, highest rated transfer class, influx of astute coaches. their D has apparently made strides from an already decent state. New ST coach as well. they’ll be in mid season form to give sf a big win on an international stage. Northwestern likes to start slow and usually wakes up slowly around mid october.

It would be great if Nebraska could lose the game on a blocked punt or something. Frost has said all summer he's been really involved with special teams. That would be a fitting start to the year.
I think Nebraska is the more athletic team...and deeper team...but never underestimate an Irishman (Fitzgerald) returning to the homeland. He'll be able to take a punch and won't quit. He's definitely going to get some licks in. Then it's Lucky Charms for everyone!

Well…. I don’t gamble anymore, except in the stock market and stepping out of my house every day… But that is an unusually high line?! To me anyway. And the old axiom is; if it seems out of line and you should naturally go the other way, then you bet big on the favorite!!!

Fitz is overrated. The dc that retired was really good.
I bet Northwestern and the under. I think Nebraska’s offense changing to a coordinator with pass-happy tendencies is going to be a roadblock, esp week one. I expect NW to be a lot better than last year and ugly up the game big time.
I’m rooting for the Wildcat and writing that makes me feel sick.
However, in just one season after a d-coordinator (or any coordinator) leaves a team...do the players forget what they learned from them in prior year?
I’m hoping that Debbie has a perfect record this year so I’m pulling for Northwestern to win.

I'm saying Northwestern by 3 or less. I can't ignore the trend we all witnessed all last year.
This game will be HUGE in determining last place in the West.
Sure. It's less about Fitz and more about traveling across the pond, weird stadium setup and a two touchdown spread.
