Why did they invite Nebby to B1G?

Not sarcasm at all. Jesus Christ. Hasn't they sold out their stadium - or close to it - for something like 6 straight decades and they only have 1.9 million people in the whole state. Travel around some of the other B1G boards and they'll say the same thing about the Nebraska fan base. Many still consider the 1995 Nebraska team as the GOAT
Iowa has 3 million people with 2 P5 programs = 1.5 M/each. I consider the 1960 Iowa team the greatest of all time as every team on the schedule was rated in the top 20 and we finished at Notre Dame with a 28-0 win, tie for first with the old Big X rules left Iowa out of the Rose Bowl cause we were there the year before...

Big Ten brought in Nebraska because they felt like they’d be competitive and were, at the time, considered somewhat academic peers, and bring in tv’s. Though the latter has held, the former two have been a big kick in the nuts for the B1G.
The B1G failed to recognize that when Nebraska was good, they were also one of the shadiest programs with a scumbag coach. That stuff they did wouldn’t fly today and their Osborne would have been fired, and probably prosecuted.

Championships? You guys can't even compete in the West. If Trev is smart he'll drop down to FCS where y'all can be competitive again.
Nebby has been very competitive even though on the short end of the stick. Sure was a tight one today.

Nebraska is the only P5 school to have had the head coach arrested as both head coach and former player, congratulations Micky Joseph. Although, Frost was pushing his luck when fired.
he head coach and player

Osborne built his program on cupcakes, usually only playing 2 or 3 tough teams a year. And were usually exposed at end of year by OU, Colorado or in a bowl...UNTIL....OU got attacked by NCAA for things that Nebraska hid under the rug and still do. Osborne finally got his tainted titles and the Nebraska cult has been living in that bubble ever since.

When they fled the Big12 because they were becoming a doormat to Texas, OU and about any team in south, they were convinced they would be the Ohio st of the west (thanks to media like Omaha World Herald, they still think they are every year...until the season end shows they are not). But new batch of Koolaide is already being brewed up for next year by their media and cultish fans.

In retrospect, it was a way to begin the B1G era of TV dominance, by undermining one of its key competitors.

Nebraska was a cornerstone program of the Big 12, and once they left and Colorado left, the conference has never been the same.

This. Not that hard to figure out. Nebraska might have the best fan base in CF and draw eyeballs.
Based on what? The sell out streak is fabricated. Their narrative is bombastic. I unfortunately live in NE and they are incredibly entitled.

can someone remind me why we are still talking about Nebraska? Even their former players refer to Iowa as big brother.
