Why?

You added white guy. How do you know what race I am? Even the mention of a color of race is racist, doesn't matter what color we are. Why does the color of a person's skin have any bearing at all to what we were talking about? I didn't say you were a racist white guy, you did, I said you were just racist.
Oh Sharky...

My brother is a very successful CFP and he told me that one of his colleagues who is also experienced and successful came in to the office yesterday and was so distraught she had to leave. She and her wife are convinced that they will be rounded up and sent to a camp because they are lesbians.
It’s insane and frankly if she were my financial advisor I’d question her intelligence. And not feel confident about her financial advice.

If Trump didn’t oversee such an effort in his first four years why are they worried now?
It seems that people voted for him because they preferred his economic policies and his border policies.
We have serious issues in this country and why we squander energy on what private adult sleeping arrangements are is beyond me.

Good friend (lesbian) of mine told me Monday that her wife thinks they are going to end up in a concentration camp with a Trump win. Hoping my bewildered look back at her didn't offend.

I have said this before. When Trump won in 2016, I had lunch with four female coworkers the following day. All of them were bawling, successful, smart, beautiful women, all bawling. Should also add we worked in a company with 40 employees, 36 of which were women, most of them held favorable status in the company in all age ranges.

I guess I don't get it.
So ...don't leave us hanging?

Did ya have a five-way nooner?

Your good friend's (lesbian) wife knows that Trump is the first President to support gay marriage the day he entered office, right?

I think a good question is at what point would Republicans/MAGA draw the line on restrictions against the LGBTQ community?

Would laws against transition surgery for trans adults be okay?
Would overturning gay marriage be okay?
Would banning LGBTQ people from adopting children be okay?
Would allowing places to refuse to rent/sell to LGBTQ be okay?
Would banning schools from hiring LGBTQ teachers be okay?
Would allowing business to refuse to hire qualified LGBTQ people be okay?
Would it be okay to make PDA by LGBTQ people illegal?

Aren’t those things protected now? If I go to rent an apartment would anyone ask me if I like men or women? NO. they DO run a credit check and make sure I am not a criminal fugitive. And make sure I’m not breeding chickens or boa constrictors.
Heck we used to have a few rental properties back in the 70’s and we rented to a couple we knew were gay. It didn’t matter. They paid their rent!
A friend of mine since childhood has a gay son who just retired as an elementary school principal.
At a school in the Deep South. Never came up.
Surgery for trans adults is not illegal and if they make a private decision to undergo surgical procedures they pay for who cares?

Yes, they are, but I'm asking if changes were made by the courts or legislation which would be a bridge too far for Republicans/MAGA?

Keep in mind, abortion was protected until a few years ago.

I know right? You'd think they lived in a battleground state and witnessed 3 months of relentless transphobic political ads.
"Harris supports They and Them, Trump supports You and Me."

Naaaa, I'm sure they didn't take that personal at all.

So you think these things will come true? That there are things in this country that aren’t more important than where someone sleeps or lives?

BTW ballot initiatives on abortion passed in 3 of four states. It barely lost in Florida - but 57% of voters voted for it and if Republicans are smart they need to understand how that will impact 2026 races.

Tell the truth. Did you think Roe would be overturned in your lifetime?

I don't know, but I think that's why the LGBTQ community is nervous about the new administration.

I could see MAGA placing restrictions on hiring LGBTQ teachers and making PDA by LGBTQ people restricted in certain places.

I didn’t care one way or another. But I am pro-choice. And it bugs me that a small group of fanatical religious conservatives could convince people that most of America feels the way they do and so members of Congress were scared into voting a certain way.

I could see that small group also believing that LGBTQ people should go back to the closet.

I will once again remind you all of the studies regarding leftists and mental health issues.. this is unfortunately par for the course when you're dealing with cults.

Truth be told I abhor the whole they/them thing. It's ****ing confusing. Every time I hear it I'm thinking they are referring to more than one. Then I get corrected. Just pick a proper pronoun and stick with it.
Yes, it's very weird, BUT I don't think I'd run a campaign on it.

After hearing Ruth Bader Ginsberg speak on the issue over 25 years ago at a lecture in Washington D.C. yes. She questioned long before that how long it would be. Her overall knowledge of why it was worth supporting while knowing it would be sent back as a State issue was astonishing. Loved her as a Justice and her hard stance on issues while also clearly viewing issues and problems with decisions.

When it say transphobic, do you mean fiscally not wanting to cover trans surgery?
Did you see the ads out of Omaha saying a Democratic candidate was with they/them but the Republican candidate is with me? I can't remember which candidate it was for.

Didn’t, but get that that is transphobic. That’s is also, going to be a winner for conservatives for another fifty years

Wouldn't you agree that a solid number of those conservative states with people you consider fanatical have voted to allow abortions? So by returning it to the people via the state those fanatics have become as you say, a small group who can't control the narrative.

Have you had a good week, loser?
Poor Scruddy doesn’t like it when he gets reminded how stupid he is.
I have had a good week. Gonna watch the Hawks in a few minutes (that’s the Iowa basketball team, I know you don’t know what that is).

Yes. But it proves my theory. Missouri and Kansas are both examples of that.

Bad sentence structure at the end there. Please do better next time.

Which is why the LGBTQ community may be a little more stressed about Republicans having the White House and Congress. Anti gay marriage was a winning issue for many years as well.
