Wiesy is gone.

If you’re a good player and you can’t win with Luka Garza, I would go try and make some money in the NBA or Europe too.
I was just going to say the same thing.

He’s not an idiot & he knows that he’ll really get exposed next year by coming back.

If he couldn’t dominate way more than he did this year with Luka, he knows he’ll get smothered next year without him.

Look at the talent on display in the tournament and tell me JW is going to make an NBA roster. All 5 guys that started for Oregon would be more likely to make a roster than JW and that's just one team. He will do well in Europe but that will be there next year. What are the odds he works his way on to an NBA roster from the developmental league? Pretty slim IMO. Another year to work on his dribble drive game + the opportunity to be the featured scorer won't hurt his stock. Certainly his decision to make and I wish him the best.

Would he improve his chances of making the nba if he returned? Maybe, but little guarantee of that. I could understand him taking the shot at a pro career at this point.

My comment wasn’t meant to be a sleight against Wieskamp. More why come back to a worse team when you can go make money.

With the right team he can , my team the sixers give Korkmaz a 6-7 designated shooter quite a few minutes a game. If Jw can fill that role on the right team he has a chance.

before today I would have laughed at this but not now. wish he'd come back to improve his game but its his life.

I agree he can shoot but the rest of his game is very limited IMO. Really cannot see NBA in his future, but who knows.

Don't think Wieskamp's ready for the League, but also don't wish him ill if he wants to go.

Still think a core 5 of JoeT/Ulis, CJF, Weezy, PMac, and KeMurray with the first 4 off the bench of Nunge, Perkins, Ulis/JoeT, and KrMurray would be not only be 9-10 group of guys who would be very athletic players who could score in a variety of ways but also (mostly) capable M2M defenders, and maybe slightly better in zone D due to size & quickness.

But like someone said above, I'm not a coach at any level so what do I know?

I'm not convinced JW is NBA material but I would not blame him one bit for exploring his opportunities beyond Iowa.
Better off at a program that has been past the first weekend of the tourney at least once over the past two decades. We are what we are: crap. I’d leave this shit show as well.

Not calling a leaving Garza, weezy, JBo addition by subtraction, but I can see another 20-22 win team next year too. Just redistributed points.
Just a question of who is going to step up to take them. Keegan showed some flashes throughout the year of taking over as a scorer. Fredrick has on occasion but has also deferred entirely too much throughout his career so far. Pat looks for his shot. If Nunge is healthy, he could account for 10-15 a game. I think we need at least a couple 12-15 ppg scorers (including a go-to guy) plus a few 8-10 to be where we need to be offensively

I think you are vastly underestimating how difficult it is to replace a guy like Garza especially without elite recruits.. Wieskamp as well, not many people around can light it up like that. I think we can have some ok teams going forward but next year could be ugly, I'm guessing we'll be bottom half of conference and miss tournament.. tough to predict multiple years out.

The guy shot 47% from 3, best shooter in the country this year still getting slandered by his own "fans"
