Like to see Meyer try for some backs in that match however
Yes, thanks for the pbp everyone!
It always feels like a team loss when Clark loses.....
I dont' mind the stalling, we need more of that! He seemed to be quick on everything else though.I really liked this official. Some might argue a bit quick on stalling, but pretty consistent.
I'm with ya on that one... I never have a good feeling about the duals when one of our studs lose. Hope this is a good motivator for Clark and he turns it around. It always feels like a team loss when Clark loses.....
Tough test coming off an injury, and with a heavily wrapped leg. He'll get him in the B10's.I'm with ya on that one... I never have a good feeling about the duals when one of our studs lose. Hope this is a good motivator for Clark and he turns it around.
For as much as Black did relatively nothing (Sammy not much more), he did do a good job of circling in when he got to the edge, almost like it was a game plan of some sort. Sammy needs to find a shot somewhere, somehow. He should work with Burak on those ties where he slips off the tie right down to a single leg and either bring it up or trip it, worked well last night for Burak, and that's a move a HWT. could pull off I think, without exposing himself to get underneath the big boys on a failed lower single attempt. It's a good question, although Stoll wasn't really getting into position to score. He was working to improve his position in the ties and to get his underhooks but Black wasn't giving them to him. If Stoll had been changing levels and shooting, I'm sure they would have give him the call. The emphasis this year is more on calling stalling for guys backing out of bounds, which I thought this ref did pretty well tonight. I think some of it had to do with the weight class, too. Heavyweights are so known for pushing without much offense that the refs are usually slow to call a stall on either guy in the neutral position unless one guy is shooting like crazy -- something we almost never see outside of a guy like Mike McMullan of NW, who's now done.
You could clearly see Sam trying that, but Black back pedaled and pulled away every time Sam would make contact. I don't know how he wasn't hit multiple times the way he avoided any sort of action. For as much as Black did relatively nothing (Sammy not much more), he did do a good job of circling in when he got to the edge, almost like it was a game plan of some sort. You have to wonder if some guys on here even watch the matches. Heavyweight isn't a weight to take desperation shots. Sam pushed the pace and controlled the match. He showed some nice quickness on Blacks near td to boot. It's hard for Stollhouse to take a shot when Black was constantly backing off.. he wouldn't be able to reach him if he tried. I get it that Black was doing a good job circling, but he wanted no part in engaging...

I agree with you except in that match Sam was constantly working to get into an offensive position while Black constantly avoided any semblance of wrestling. The little guys can take half shots at the legs and draw stall calls. The big guys lose the match if they take one bad shot. It's cause he didnt sniff a shot...refs won't call it just cause our guy is pummeling aggressively. Had Sam got to a leg just once, I think you would have seen the call.
