Will Elon be the next speaker of the House?

I don’t think he has any interest in doing hard work. I do think he has an interest in his legacy and will surround himself with compotent people who will carry out his desires. Elon Musk is a perfect example. Musk is supremely capable problem solver and will come up with solutions.

Also Trump’s 2024 was much more polished than the 2016 campaign for example. Aside from the ill prepared debate where he was ambushed by the partisan interviewers who lied during their “fact checks.” His video communications were coherent, measured, and direct. Kudos to his campaign manager.
Don't you ever feel shame for being a billionnaire ball gargler?

Have some f---ing self respect man.

Run SpaceX, run X, run Tesla, run DOGE, shoot ketamine, father 14 kids, prepare to go to Mars. I'm sure he has the bandwidth to be successful with all of that. Nothing should suffer at any level.

Also become a top ranked Diablo player and play Path of Exile 2.

I think mostly the breeder fetish, the spreading propaganda on X, and ketamine are mostly what he is doing.

Parasocial relationships are one-sided relationships, where one person extends emotional energy, interest and time, and the other party, the persona, is completely unaware of the other's existence. Parasocial relationships are most common with celebrities, organizations or television stars.

It shows that the republicans are not a monolithic herd of sheep.

I forgot he is a DJ/Rapper or something as well. Probably drop a few trax in '25.

The thing those of us on the left need to grasp is that there is basically nothing that will get the board MAGAS to acknowledge they have been wrong or voted for the bad guy. Think about the furthest right guys on here. I don’t even know if Trump or Elon raping their mothers, wives or daughters in front of them would make them admit they screwed up. I’m not even joking. If Trump started doing liberal things the cult members would suddenly be fine with it.

There’s nothing that will get them to leave Trump, just like Trump told them.

He already runs congressional republicans. No benefit to being speaker.
It doesn’t help that you have to go back to the 90s to find a GOP speaker who could wrangle their caucus as needed. And over the past decade the republicans have, above and beyond Trump himself, completely surrender to their right wing nuts as most fear primary challenges more than general elections.

A good GOP leader would at least make a show of negotiating with democrats to demonstrate to the freedom caucus nuts that they can get some of what they want, or they can get nothing.

Lets be honest though, "run" in this sense simply means to let actual smart people do the work while they try to keep him out of the way.

Wait a minute I take it back…I agree with you on this.
See how easy that is? 😉

A common mistake I see more and more people making is that they somehow think Elon Musk would want a full time government role...

The DOGE role is all he wants. It's basically the most powerful consulting position in the world... He can dig into everything, give an opinion and go back to running his other massive companies...

He doesn't want to be a politician, he just wants all the perks... Why would he want anything else?

The current GOP members don't care about governing. Some time in the past decade or so they figured out that it's just a job to print money and all it requires is zero morals. So you end up the the Matt Gaetz and the MTG and the Boeberts. Their entire goal is to get on TV or go viral so they can drum up donations.
All the ethical GOP members were drummed out with Trump's first reign.

I think he simply wants to dispense with the congressional food fights that are regularly triggered by this imaginary red line,.. Budget cuts still need to be in play.

We elect representatives to have this “food fight” on our behalf, to an extent. Representative government by its nature is not intended to be efficient. Often, the lack of consensus is the stabilizing force that makes our system stable.

Why should an unelected billionaire have a say in relief funding for FEMA? For the water treatment plant that will provide cleaner water to a community? For a new bridge? Often, there’s no immediate ROI in government spending - and it’s a good thing the government isn’t beholden to quarterly earnings and investors.

Elon is in way over his head, but - of course - believes he’s the smartest guy in the room. His downfall will be fun to watch.

I bet you would but here’s the news hon…they don’t whitewash jackshit in Florida.
And other than that I’m not engaging with anything with you.
Pfft.

I always check my sources but couldn't help but laugh at the AI response that I received below. Seems a little counter to your narrative.

Whitewashing slavery is the act of downplaying or glossing over the enslavement of Africans in the Americas. It can also refer to the practice of limiting what educators can teach about race, racism, and American history.

Here are some examples of whitewashing slavery:

  • Florida's "Stop WOKE Act"
This law prohibits teaching that causes students to feel personal responsibility, guilt, anguish, or other forms of psychological distress.

"Give me oligarchy or give me death!" does have a special ring to it.
Hah, and what do you think you're defending wanting to keep the status quo? Who do you think wrote and wanted the ridiculous 1500 page bill jammed with special interest garbage? A bunch of poor civil servants? Wake up.

Have you noticed that if you click on many of the bios of the people PF retweets, they are all just like him? It’s like a big cult of Tesla/Musk/Tech dorks who live and breathe Elon Musk.

If Elon wanted a round w/ one of Phenom's family members, he would immediately turn into this guy.
