Will there be a revolution of some sort in the next 50 years?

You know how much post war Europe’s “social democracy success” has been created and sustained by our own policy and largesse?
WWII changed the world and things put in place 80 years ago have created generations of Europeans who have never slept a night not under US military protection paid for by schlumps here in the US who work their butts off so Europe can get “free” health care. Heaven forbid they should understand that fact, but a small few are finally learning.
I have a friend who lives in the USA but is a Norwegian national. Over Thanksgiving we were talking about life in Norway and socialized medicine came up. He said health care over there is an absolute joke. You get put on a list and good luck if they ever get around to you. Said the US healthcare system was much better.

Health care in the US is great provided you are a "have",.. which most normal citizens with full time jobs are.

Get out more. You haven't seen much. Most of what you've "seen" is probably propaganda from your buddy Elno.
You’re trying to tell me how things are in my own state and then you tell me to get out more? That’s really rich. I speak from experience. You speak from stuff you read on the internet. Maybe try getting out from your parents’ spare bedroom.

So basically, being a “have not” in the USA is the result of poor work ethic and similar character flaws. I’ll go with that. And you still get free housing, food, flatscreen TVs, and other luxuries. Sounds like “have not” actually means “have not quite as much”.

Ah, now we have to compare Louisiana to 3rd world countries.
Not really a winning argument here for you.
We’re talking about poor in the USA. They have it a lot better than poor people in the vast majority of the world. All I did was move the goal posts back to their original position, after you moved them.

Sounds like the Norwegians who pay the bills have it worse than the freeloaders in the USA.

A long-deceased boss I had about 25 years ago (a retired professor) was convinced the have-nots would be coming over the wall for the haves before too long. He also argued that we wouldn’t be able to build walls high enough.

Leaving aside that we just elected a billionaire who seems intent on stocking his administration with fellow billionaires, thoughts on whether this is a realistic possibility?
Maybe in another part of the world. Anyone in the US considering themselves a "have not" should take a look at what "have nots" look like in other countries. If the people in the United States who are considered "have nots' tried some sort of uprising, they would be silenced rather quickly, and they've be laughed at by other countries.

I wonder if he knows who Bob Stoops is. Doubtful.
I’ve actually met him a few times. Attended an alumni rally at the Shreveport Petroleum Club in 2001 where he was the guest speaker. Also met him in the Switzer center while he was still HC. Really not that big of a deal.

Right wingers always seem to have these friends from countries that are smaller and more democratic where it should be much easier to privatize the healthcare system if it were actually so unpopular and yet it hasn't really happened like that and polling routinely indicate people in those countries are happy with the various universal schemes out there.

its amazing that none of those countries ever want to switch to our system

And the stories of 'some rich people from overseas love the us because they can pay to jump line' isn't the flex they think it is.
