Wisc. at Iowa Line as of Noon Thurs. Hawks -3 o/u 40.5

If Sullivan is QB, Iowa covers.
Cheers and GO HAWKS!
If Sullivan is named starter, the Wisconsin Defensive Coordinator is going to be pissed.

For the first time in about 8 years, every opposing DC has scheduled vacation time during Iowa week. Before leaving the office on Sunday he would hand over last years game plan to the grad assistant, tell him to put 8 players in the box and blitz on passing downs, then pat him on the back and tell him he’ll see him next Sunday. Cancel that vacation.

Probably the single biggest factor in who wins this game is who starts at QB for Iowa. Does Kirk continue to roll with the 108th ranked QB in the country or hand the ball to the guy who led them to victory after yet another extremely dismal start to last week's game by QB1 who accounted for minus 4 points against a toothless Northwestern pass defense before getting bailed out on a second "WTF was that" interception? Will logic dictate a change or will Kirk inexplicably risk losing the team and a huge segment of the fanbase by rolling Cade out there again? If he does, it's going to get ugly and fast.

iowa has both the country's most confident qb and a effective dual threat qb. both bring top talent, no bad choice.

Wait, it’s not a foregone conclusion that Sullivan starts? Guess I just assumed that would be the easiest decision ever.

So it's a toss-up + home field. Kinnick at night is gonna be rough on them Badgers...even if the are nocturnal

Hawks win if we can generate a pass rush, if not we are in trouble.
I'm not sure how this is in any way a determinative factor. Wisconsin is hardly a good passing team unless youre using Iowa's passing offense as a benchmark. They rank 84th in yardage and Locke is 93rd in passing efficiency. Wisconsin won't beat Iowa through the air. Stop Wisconsin's running game and Iowa wins going away.

But we have a history of allowing career days with our secondary.

Even with Kirk forced to start Sullivan, this game remains a tossup.
This is not the good wisky of old. But they are better than last season.
This is looking like the most even matchup on the schedule.

this game will hinge on parker's D coz wisky has rbs and wrs to do what the spartans did
Whisky has the backs and receivers to make this soft tackling D whiff all day long like at MichSt. But this Whisky qb is the kind of stiff this D can do well against, he throws it to the wrong team alot.

Wisconsin's points per possession allowed is 1.23 , Iowa's is 1.26 and the Badgers have faced both Bama and USC , , Their defense is capable . If that O/U stays above 40 there is some value on the under especially if weather is an issue at all , I do not see either Teams offenses taking many risks , Whoever runs the ball and eliminates TO's and mistakes wins this one . I have this one at 20-17 , flip a coin on who wins it.

I think Iowa's significant advantage in the rushing game is the difference here. Iowa averages more than a full yard more per rush 5.69 vs 4.63 and allows nearly a full yard less per rush 3.51 vs 4.45. The 2 teams have flipped positions from several years ago when Wisconsin used to dominate Iowa with their rushing game.

Wisconsin's wins are against Western Michigan, South Dakota, Purdue, Rutgers, and Northwestern.

Ours are against, Illinois St, Troy, Minnesota, Washington, and Northwestern. I'd say we have the better wins.

They've lost to Alabama, USC, and Penn State (with 2 of those 3 being at home). We lost to ISU (ranked better than Alabama), Michigan State (equivalent to USC, but that was at MSU, not at home), and at OSU (which is equivalent to PSU, but again, our loss was at OSU, not at home).....plus our total margin in our losses has been 41 points and theirs have been 64. So I'd say our losses were "better".

Factor in that it's at Kinnick at night, and I'm feeling pretty good about this one.
