Does it go without saying this game will be under the lights?

Assuming both teams are 3-0, and both should be, why wouldn't it be?

Nothing stands out on the schedule that week, unless you want to make a case for Nebraska/Michigan (and I'm not)

Obviously, all Iowa fans (and coaches) would prefer a slot in that time frame in front off a jacked up crowd. I was there for the Ohio State beatdown last year and Michigan the year before - awesome display of fan support.

Whether it's BIG10 Network of ESPN/ABC - don't care. Just get to booked. Wisky fans think it is - hotels are scarce in I-City for Sept 22.

I would love to see the Wiscy game played under the lights in Kinnick. We have a strong record of success playing these high stakes game at night. It is also amazing to watch the wave to the children's hospital at the end of the first quarter. with the lights from all those cell phones. The winner of this game holds a strong position within the west division. Go Hawks!

This is the kind of look-ahead NIU and ISU are glad to see. Looking past opponents is always dangerous.

Yeah I mean fans looking past opponents really makes a huge difference in the outcome of the game.... seriously give me a break this is such a stupid analogy. Both games our fans will be pumped up for one being the first game game of the season and then vs an instate rival next week. As for looking past it only matters if players and coaches do which I highly doubt it and won’t see for these first 2 games

Only game one could argue is probably the UNI game sandwiched between isu and Wisconsin but night game will help negate that some.

Well I'm the punter, I always thought everyone here was on the team.

If both Nebraska and Michigan are still undefeated, I am pretty confident that will be the night game. Still, it seems like the black and gold spirit game is almost always a night game. I don’t really know how the selection process works, but maybe the Iowa-Wisconsin game ends up being one of those funky start times (like 5:30 or 6) on FOX.

I’d say the fans lack of enthusiasm and attendance played a big role in the loss to Purdue.

If Iowa doesn't show up to play and play well against NIU and Iowa St. Iowa wont be 3-0 going into that game.

Agreed, and the Panthers will be looking for a win as well.

As fans we can overlook anybody. I highly doubt the Iowa coaches, in practices and meetings, will let the players look past any of the non-Big Ten opponents.

I hope the Wisconsin game is NOT a night game...or even 2:30. 11:00 gets my vote.

Or poor offensive execution with crucial drops. Bad specials teams play with roughing the punter that lead to only first half td for them and fumble inside the 30 on a punt return in the 4th qtr. Combine that with awful secondary play to start 2nd half that gave up 2 quick TDs. I thought those were bigger issues in the loss vs Purdue over the fans who were waiting for anything to get excited for in the game. But I guess our opinions differ on this one. Only thing I'll criticize the fans for was wishing attendance would have been little better for this senior day game.

I’d say the team seems to always compete at night when Kinnick is packed and loud. But I guess you think there’s no correlation.

I find it hard that they would go back to back with night games but you never know. TV does dictate most of those things so it would be out of the Ath Dept hands at that point. Havent looked at the schedule much so not sure what other games are going on nationally .

How come?
I hate night games. Waiting around all day, 1am by the time I get home. Just not fun.

11:00 games are perfect. I get up around my usual time, 2 hour drive to the game, don’t have to wait long for the game to start, 2 hour drive home....able to catch most of the second half of the 2:30 games, and still have the whole evening.

My grandpa is in total agreement. I think all the noise during those exciting night games kinda gets to him, too.

Makes one h_ll of a long day unless you win the game. Then it's one h_ll of a great day.:p

Not saying they don't but saying its a lame excuse to blame the crowd and game time on the awful game against Purdue. Or if you do those factors are so far down on the list. Poor performance in all 3 facets of that game for Iowa. Got to point the fingers at the players and coaches before anyone on that.

With the split ESPN/FOX contract, there are weeks with two B1G night games. Nebraska/Michigan being at night may not impact Iowa/Wisky. Both games are attractive to TV partners.

The Kinnick Edge comes out only at night.

Silverman of the B1G just mentioned in his presser that the MICH - NEB game is on FS1 and the Wisconsin- Iowa game still up in the air. That means BOTH could presumably still be night games.

Love night games. The atmosphere is much better for fans and players. It also allows more people that have kids in youth sports to attend or watch on TV.

That game will probably be on ESPiN ...they'd love to inflate the match-up of two hot-shot, overrated, done- nothing-in-the-conference-yet coaches.

We did. Then we expressed ours.

Not wanting to have a couple of home night games every year because you'll be up past your bedtime is super-lame. Not surprising coming from him, however.
You don't see me making fun of other people's opinions, but not surprising coming from you.

So I don't like night games. Big deal. Does this impact YOUR life in some way? If so, then that is sad. If not, then why do you care?

Well, you got 2 out of 6 right. That's pretty good for you.
