When do you think they announce this and what is your best guess? Saw a while back someone thought they cracked a guy with info that it would be on FS1 but dont remember the story.

Probably screams late day/night if both teams are undefeated heading in.

Probably going to announce it 12 days before the game like the rest of the TBA kickoff times this season. There are 1-2 weeks per season where the networks hold it even longer and use a 6 day window though IIRC.

I believe they have the 12-day window to decide game time. So it should be announced the Monday after the Iowa State game. If Iowa is 2-0, likely a lock to be at night. Wisconsin plays Western Kentucky, New Mexico and BYU prior to Iowa. BYU many times is the equivalent of a bowl P5 team, but they were 4-8 last year. Don't know what the Cougars have this year.

The are some pretty good games on 9/22.

- Nebraska @ Michigan
- ND @ Wake Forest
- Northern Illinois @ FSU
- TCU @ Texas
- Texas Tech @ Okie St.
- Texas A&M @ Bama

To name a few. Some decent competition for a night game slot.

Hopefully bama a@m will be CBS 230 slot TCU Texas will be a fox game Nebraska Michigan ESPN or Ben can only hope right

I don't think other games matter much at this point. Fox has both B1G games that day, so it is up to them to decide who gets what slot. Pretty sure they've already said Nebraska/Michigan is going to be a night game but they could move Wisconsin/Iowa over to FS1 and also have it be a night game. I think that is what they said when asked.

This is what I was wondering.

If Mich. beats ND and both Mich and Nebbie are undefeated that will get top billing even is Iowa and Wisc are both undefeated. I can't go to the game this year (long story) so don't want both games at night. Would love to celebrate a Hawks' win with a Mich. beat down of the Frostites.

Really, honestly, who cares about the Nebby/Mich game...I'd say the Iowa/Wis game has much bigger implications than the other. The only reason its getting blown up is because everyone expects Nebby to play for a national title this year now that they have Scott Frost.

On a national scale, it is two teams with historically big time NCAAF "names". I am totally with you in terms of the current relevance of Iowa and Wisconsin and what that game means for the B1G West... but I guess to simply pull a made up example out of my ass, let's say Tennessee vs Florida is going to determine the SEC East winner but that same day is Auburn vs LSU and the networks decide the latter match up is more interesting to the national viewing audience. Maybe that doesn't make sense, but that's how I think Fox views this situation with Sept 22nd.

Yep and I can see Nebraska losing at least 1 of their first 3 games before even getting to the Michigan game.

Michigan/Nebraska is already slated for FS1. Iowa/Wisconsin still have a chance to be on the regular Fox network. I’d imagine Fox would have the prime time game on at night and I doubt they would play the games at the same time.

In all seriousness, I agree that it is very unlikely that they will both be night games, and it would be extremely unusual for FOX networks to have a lone night game broadcast on FS1 and not FOX. I think there's a good chance that IA-WI could be a night game on FOX, but if Iowa lays a Sept turd, my guess is that it will be a day game on FS1, with FOX picking up a Big 12 or Pac-12 game for that evening to go head-to-head (or overlap) with Mich-Neb.

Well I worded that a little weird didn’t I? What I meant was that if Nebraska/Michigan are inked in to FS1, I doubt they would make that a night game if their regular Fox channel was going to be picking up another game because that would be the prime time game. I could be way off base though.

I dont know the TV alignments all that well. Could TCU @ Texas put a wrench in our night game hopes? Or might that help us if they put that on FS1 and give that the night slot forcing Neb/Mich to afternoon slot? Would we then get night slot on Fox so we dont have two B1G games going head to head in prime time? Is that even a consideration?

I usually stay out of visiting fans posting unless it is ISU because they are such a pathetic bunch. But N Legend you have a tendency to just post dumb crap on a very regular basis. If Iowa is so far beneath Nebbie why do you lower yourself to post here? Honest question. I would never post on another team's site but for example if I ever did ISU would be dead last on places to post because they are so irrelevant and pathetic. So query to you. Why do you post here if we are such a lesser program than Nebbie? I mean surely there are Nebbie boards or other "worthy" opponents' boards for your Nebbie standards you can post on right?

So which is it, you do post on ISU sites or you don't? And if my posts are so dumb why do you respond? You respond because you are thin skinned when it come to Iowa football. Your essay (although I will give you credit for not using troll, fuc*ing, or creatine) is telling. You have a tough time dealing with people who oppose your point of view. I live in eastern Iowa and when my buddies (most hawk fans) and I get together we often berede one another like Iowa will lose more games in pre-conference than Nebraska but they are secure enough to understand and they hand it back. They don't try to silence me. I will continue to respond when I believe Hawk fans are wrong about Nebraska, so I would suggest you skip reading my posts.

Um I said I don't post on other sites. A little more in life than posting on another team's site. I was really just asking if Iowa is such a mediocre low level program far beneath the mighty Huskers why do you lower yourself to speak to such peasants? That was all.
