Worst sports commentators?

I forget the gal's name who called the Iowa-Penn State 6-4 game. Tate got tackled at the 1, pushed back into the end zone and she was calling for a safety. Believe Tomzak (sp?) was the other commentator who had to point out to her that forward progress was a thing.

It’s funny, Musburger does a show at the SouthPoint Casino in Vegas where they talk about sports betting and lines each week. Dude knows his stuff.

More than that, Musburger is an investor and one of the founders of VSIN.

Musburger spoke well of the University of Iowa and he loved Hayden Fry.

I just don't understand the hate for Musburger. I suppose people are jealous of his success. That is the way of the world, be jealous of successful people and find ways to knock them down.

My take on Joe Buck has always been this.

People like to feel smart. What better way to get viewers than to have one of your commentator be an idiot and you therefore tune in just to feel good you know more that him.

Buck isn't hired for what he knows.....he is hired to make you feel good about what YOU know.

Meh, he was hired because of his dad.

But for real, questioning why a kickoff that goes through the end zone and lands out of bounds isn't a penalty is inexcusable.

It's been years now and I have yet to read one good opinion from you on this site. That's tough to do, it's like you're trying to suck.

We need to distinguish between in game commentators and studio hosts/talking heads.
On Sundays I watch RedZone so I never get enough of one commentator team to dislike them. For college though I never liked tuning in to the noon game and hearing Pam Ward on the call. And not because she's a woman. Her voice got to me. Doris Burke is fantastic in NBA games.

What a hodgepodge of a list! We have in game announcers mixed in with TV personalities! Fouts is definitely one of the worst color commentators, he's just incredibly stupid. Keyshawn, Skip and Gottlieb are all very annoying, although Skip is good for some laughs from time to time (at him not with him). Cowherd has always been solid because he knows his stuff more than others, and Greenberg is actually growing on me the few times I've listened to him now that he's gone solo.
