-a college kid playing two sports for the Hawks while battling health issues and still making the Dean’s List

-a high school kid who has beaten cancer to become one of the best players in the state and who is committed to playing for the Hawks

You’re honestly comparing Fran’s entire coaching career with Dr Tom’s time at Iowa?

Since you brought up Dr Tom. He made the NCAA tournament 11 times in his 32 years as a head coach. Which, if you’re half way decent at math, you’d know that’s less than Fran’s record. Nine of those 11 were with Iowa and several were set up nicely by the coach who preceded him. Carry on.

My recollection is Frydaze was talking about sweet16 appearances for Fran .

We know in Fran's best seasons at Iowa, he can deliver a team that peaks midseason and collapses in February. His teams limp into BTT playing their worst basketall and lose 1st round BTT game. In NCAA, they then can beat a mid-major int round of 32, but get blown out in 1st 5min in sweet16 game looking like an intramural team vs legit P5/Top20 talent.

Given Fran won't be fired this year, I'd be open to Fran showing he has some sense that his "system" has flaws and really commit to defense, not just more zone junk or extend pressure because they need to run off shot clock time because they can't guard in half court

Gettting new defensive/recruiting assistant is start. Making an offseason move to bolster the roster. Actually playing JoeT next year.

I wouldn't have thought it would take this many years for a head basketball coach in a Power 5 Conference to realize changes needed to be made regarding the assistant coaches and the hiring of a coach or two that had a record of teaching defense.

Fran"s to do list
1. Replace Dillard and maybe Francis(his coaching as acting head coach really shocked me).
2. Finally get his temper under control
3. Find the problem of why his teams are physically and MENTALLY drained at regular season end.
4. Learn to motivate his players like Wisconsin does. ( Steal Dean Oliver from Wisconsin if possible. More money should do it)
