Would rather have Dale Jones for a year than Nunge at all

If there was ever a guy who is likely to transfer before he ever sets foot in Iowa City, its this guy. Where exactly is this guy going to play? Garza is a true 5. Nunge is going to get minutes with Cook, Pemsl, Kriener, Baer and Moss already there? Plus, at that size he will get broken in half.

What a jerk to bad mouth our players!!!

Yeah, what the heck is going on? A walkon gets a scholarship, and a four star gets nothing. A kid ranked in the top 50 doesn't even have an offer going into his junior season! And I'm pretty sure McCaffery knows about him and I HEARD HE IS sleeping with the kids wife!

Meanwhile, we've got nobody transferring. (Yet) Does no one care to make room??? Where's the Creaning!?!? A kid from Muscatine is blowing up the basketball world? What?!?! And he committed already?

We've got two All Big Ten Freshmen coming back as sophomores. The Big Ten's sixth man is going to be a junior. We're running out of guys to pick on, and are reduced to complaining about subs!

We haven't had a good name to call anyone since Oglesby. Sure, we can try WOODY!!! But that just gets posters in a bar fight.

Two four stars coming in next year. FOUR four stars, presuming we ever offer that Patrick kid. Bashers are down to crazy azz thoughts about a final four Indiana Mr. Basketball candidate.

Seems like no one gets in trouble anymore off the court. Nobody flunks anything. In fact, we recently had the #1 Student/Athlete award go to one of our guys. We're getting kids with offers from Ivy League schools.

And to top it all off we're answering the dire need for an athletic point guard by recruiting a 7'2" point guard from South Sudan!!!!

Something's screwed up. We never got to settle how many years to give McCaffery and now it looks like we may never decide until long after he's gone. We still have the same assistants that we've had, minus a few things like Director of Basketball Operations, Video Coordinator and Ice Cream Quality Tester.

Nebraska hasn't passed us. Illinois is starting over again. Crean's gone. Anunoby looks like an idiot for not having picked Iowa.

I tell you it's one of the worst times to be a Lemon Sucker in decades. Completely and unfairly, things are going great despite stupid Barta and dumb Fran and lousy players and everything else!

I have to feel terribly sorry for all the most determined bashers. It must feel like nothing they could do ever turned out right.

And the worst of it? It looks like things are only going to get better!

Damn.

Wait, the Ice Cream Quality Tester spot opened up...I need to apply for that one.

My Goodness, Dan. This might be my favorite post from you ever. I like to read it over and over. It brings sparkles to my little boy heart. Awesome. And you are right. It sure makes things tough for the bashers when we have this kind of success.

Wait, the Ice Cream Quality Tester spot opened up...I need to apply for that one.

I wouldn't. They only call him to confirm it has gone bad. Do you know what that is like?

35 years. Nothing but sour azz ice cream, chronic salmonella, explosive diarrhea! That guy with the walky-talky that you see on the concourse walking fast everywhere? You thought he was security? Tell you, the only secure thing about him was his government issue manufacture year 1963 cold war fallout level rated adult diaper!

And the entire time you're pushing that rancid frozen treat into your mouth, you hear things like, "Take it to the hole!", and the crowd is cheering and it gets real personal after awhile.

You see those big long lines and one guy cuts in front, job related obesity, unhappy look on his face. Steps in right in front of your kid and then after he gets his they close that kiosk with a sign that says, "Out"! He's heard it all fella. Let me tell you, he just saved your kid! Took a sparrow feathered slab off frozen treat right down his own gullet just to prevent a culinary catastrophe!

And your kid grows up with memories of Dairy Queen and Schwan's Ice Cream. And his kids are born lactose intolerant...and his wife, his poor wife. He's so horrified of dairy products she has to keep her shirt on so they could make those babies!

Do you recall all those milk cow mutilations they....well, never mind.

But, it's a free world! Go for it. Apply for that one. And then one day you'll hear a player nicknamed, "Little Lick", and you will snap, realizing you didn't have to finish the whole thing every time.........

Thank you for editing. I had trouble liking this when you suggested Fran was sleeping with Connor's wife. But Margaret I'm all for. Thanks for posting.

This thread has potential. I'm reminded of a similar thread where a certain poster speculated that the Iowa team would probably not win another game the rest of the season. That Iowa team then began to rattle off numerous big wins, mostly in conference play and the OP was reminded time and time again of their absurd comments as the thread was bumped again and again after each victory. Seems that was 3-4 years ago now.

Hey JRHawk, do you happen to recall who that misguided poster was that I'm referring to? Just curious...

this guy is obviously a troll just here to stir the pot. He is not an Iowa fan & every time he gets a reply you can bet he is laughing his ass off. No one can teach stupid.

Ahhh...I am a 3rd generation grad...I have been going to games since 75.....F off

Please inform us how you'd of used rotations last year to be more effective?

As for class disparity you can thank the previous regime for messed up class sizes. If Lick could keep anyone from transferring classes would have been different but left Fran in spot where he brought in 5 guys year prior to Jok and honored scholarships such as Devon Archie. He was left with depleted roster where he had to have classes of 4, 3 and 5 his first 3 years here. Plus ignore the fact he was trying to even it out classes some with the RS of Kyle Meyer who'd have been in Jok's class and while we are at it lets blame Fran for Brady Ellingson breaking his foot so he had to use a red shirt.

Simple...8-9 guys play unless there are injuries. Its not rocket science.

He did do that or had plenty of games where 10-11th guy played 2 minutes such as TCU game where he played 9 guys and 2 guys had 2 & 3 minutes in a 45 min game. Does he rotate his subs in different or maybe just maybe his lineups change based on whom they are playing with personal or fouls dictate minutes in the lineup? How would you've done better since you said it's so easy. So again please explain how in detail he should use the rotation better since you are an expert? Cause to just play 8-9 any fool can make that claim for any team out there. By the way national title winner UNC played 10+ guys in 4 of their 6 tourney games and other 2 had 9. What were they thinking rocket science says to play only 8-9?

Guys go in on whims...Play one game...dont show up for 4 games? WTF? No rhyme, reason or organization at all. Chaos.

I hope we see two bigs redshirt next season. Wouldn't mind seeing Nunge and Kreiner sitting a season to get one more on the backside.

The initial content of JRs post is actually somehow stupider but it probably wont end up as funny without a hilarious mullet/cheesey leather jacket picture to inspire comedy.

Still, this should be kept going indefinitely. Could be right up there with the "whats the Stross thread about" thread.

It would be nice, and Nunge certainly could use to add some more good weight, but I'd let the kids have the final say on RS or not. I don't see any way that RK takes a RS.

I think people are overestimating what Garza can do as a frosh, which is what fans usually do, and underestimating what Kriener can do going into next year.

They're essentially the same size (LG an inch taller, Kriener has a little longer reach) last I saw RK is actually the heavier of the two now that Garza has slimed down and RK is more athletic.

It would be nice to be able to break up last years class a little bit and since I don't see Pemsl as a RS candidate RK is the next logical point. Honestly RK probably should of taken a RS last year but that may have caused Iowa to lose that Purdue home game.

I like the potential of RKs game and the 4/5 position is going to be more crowded than ever next year.

This seems like a ridiculous topic. It doesn't seem like Dale Jones, was ever healthy enough this past year. If he was he would have played in more games for more minutes. So why would you want someone who's health is questionable over a highly rated player with 4 years left. Also if it was me I would take my degree and move on before something worse could really cause a lifetime of physical problems.

Exactly. Its not something a sane person says.

Yes, we don't know how good either RK or LG are going to be next year. But with both showing potential, let's just say the odds are good that we're actually going to have a real center in the regular rotation this coming year.

I think if someone/s redshirt it will be tbe freshman.

I could honestly see both of them but. Both have ability to contribute but its so crowded this year.

I think Fran may be anticipating Cook leaving early too which will even out the class.

Its going to be amazing if Fran can get all these guys to be patient and wait there turn.
