Would you guys take Frost over Ferentz?

One doesn't need to know a damn thing about football. Just knowing some simple math will do. Wisconsin is making it's 5th appearance at Lucas Oil Stadium. Iowa?, we're suppose to get a woody about playing in the Music City Bowl. And then, some want a weaker opponent so we can put a W in the Bowl column. Standards/expectations have fallen.

Even if we forget Ferentz early years and only look at his past ten years (2008-current)

2-10 win+ seasons 09, 15
4-8/9 win seasons 08,10,13,16
3-7 win seasons 11,14,17 which may end up as 8 wins
1-losing season 12

As comparing similar collegiate accomplishments by big ten coaches in those last ten years it seems to go Meyer, Dantonio, then Ferentz. If that's my known for the next ten years vs unknown with Frost I'm taking Ferentz
Hell, Pelini did better than that, and we fired his ass, too. gbr It’s a Frost warning.

Sure

My hope is that after how well Iowa has treated Kirk all these years, he will allow us to move on when we have a solid prospect for our coach that is a sure thing. This might be stupid but if he could act similarly to how Bob Stoops did recently (just at the end of a season and for someone outside of the org...not his son) I would have a very positive memory of the end of Kirk's time.

If he instead runs out his contract and then leaves the team in shambles because we don't let his son take over, then good riddance. Also we need a new AD ASAP so Barta isn't the one making the new head coach call.

Nope. And it is actually laughable to even bring up. Frost has proven nothing.

Undefeated in 2nd or 3rd year there rocket scientist.
Undefeated in the AAC? Impressive. Ferentz will eat his lunch next year. Nebraska hasn’t had a coach that could consistently beat Kirk since Pelini left- and they ran him off.

I think Frost will be somewhere in between Hawkeye and Husker expectations. I don’t see Ferentz eating his lunch - at least long term - and I don’t see Nebraska getting to Ohio State calibur either. Probably be a better version of Bo Pelini.

I'd take Bielema over both of them, and several others over both of them. I don't think however that Frost is the next great thing in Coaching. He's a former Nebraska player and they need a Coach. Outside of that I don't think he gets the same amount of steam here or Nationally, but what the hell do I know.

He hasn't really been around long enough to prove all that much IMO. His name isn't Ferentz, that part I like.

That's my only concern. He may have had to move up too early. We were painted in a corner though. Teams like Florida and Tennessee were going to offer and aTm, FSU and Oregon all seeked his agent to see if he was interested and Riley shit the bed. This deal was happening eventually. I wish he had only won 9 games and Riley didn't get blown out every other loss.

Glad to see Scott Frost is going to be a great fit in Nebraska. 30 points to a mid-major in the first half and the quarterback is a turnover machine.

The more some things change the more other stay the same
