Remind me (the poor outsider) - do the caucuses work based on a simple plurality, or is more like a ranked choice voting mechanism where people have to move from the last place votegetter until someone has a majority?
I really have a hard time dealing with any Trump supporter. They have no credibility in my book. They clearly are either 1) dumb, 2) racist, 3)uninformed / uneducated, or 4) all of the above.

Demonstrably false. The entire GOP is even more in love with Trump after losing in 2020, after his embarrassing and incompetent court attempts (and Four Seasons press conference lol) after his insurrection attempt, and after his petulant and unhinged behavior ever since.
The GOP will not quit Trump until he dies.
I don't thinks Rs view it as a game either. I think that they see Trump as a vehicle to create a white nationalist Christian paradise. I think they are taking this shit ultra seriously.
There are plenty of examples here of people on both sides cutting off their nose to spite their face with no regard for a mirror. I’m not a Christian, but wrath can be a wicked endeavor with extreme outcomes.

Projection. It is conservatives who keep telling us they have no choice but to vote for Trump because the Dems nominated the one human being in all the world worse than Trump.
I think there's an element out there that simply wants to give the ruling class a big **** you,.. Trump just happens to be the biggest middle finger available.
But the irony is Trump is part of the ruling class. He has no idea what life is like for the people who love him.

I agree completely that’s the appeal for a lot of people.
What I don’t understand is how these idiots cannot make the connection Trump is everything they think they despise. Trump is the elite. Trump is the ruling class.
And Trump turns his nose at all of them.
The difference is that most of the "ruling class" make them feel dumb. His simple-mindedness appeals to them, because the crap he says doesn't fly right over their head.
It reminds me of the opening scene in The Newsroom:
"We aspired to intelligence; we didn't belittle it; it didn't make us feel inferior."
Conservatives, at least dating back to 1952 when Nixon called Adlai Stevenson an "egghead", belittle intelligence because it makes them feel inferior. Trump does not exhibit intelligence, so they like him.
I'm pretty sure that flipping off our judicial system is a Trump feat that no other Republican will ever achieve... and getting the right wing media and his supporters (killing two) to follow along is quite the achievement.
I don't think the media would do anything of the sort if another Republican won the nomination unless they earned it.
I truly hope to find out. I can't really see the Rachel maddows of the world talking about Ron DeSantis and NOT taking the chance to at least say "in some ways he's worse than Trump..."
But first he must be defeated in the primaries...
I don't see it unless it's deserved. Trump deserved everything he got and the media didn't just make things up.
Maybe because Finance, many of us Dems believe Biden has in fact delivered and deserves another term? I can’t find a lot Biden has done that I cannot live with. I don’t need my President standing up every day telling more lies about what a great man he is. I like the peace and quiet the last 3 years has afforded me.
