X. Foster

Laugh all you want but you can't make a coherent argument. If you're picking these guys for an pickup game then Pat absolutely gets taken ahead of Bohannon, Connor and CJ.

If Patrick was the 3rd best player on the team, Fran would start him.

Now do Bakari Evelyn with that logic. He played frequently more minutes than Toussaint. Dumb take.

Rotations are set by fit. Fran has said that Pat is his best scorer in practice after Garza. Connor is a better facilitator with Garza on the court and he is a veteran ball handler.

What?

Evelyn never started a game at Iowa.

He was one of our top 8 or 9 guys last year and the 18 MPG he played shows that.

So by your logic you'd take Bakari in a pickup game draft over Joe Toussaint and his 16 minutes per game last year?

It would be close if you aren't drafting on potential and only who would be the better player last season.

Taking Evelyn over Toussaint is a pretty poor comparison to taking Patrick at this point over Fredrick, Connor or Bohannon.

Close? Lmfao!

Win shares per 40 minutes
Toussaint- 0.075
Evelyn - 0.035

PER
Toussaint - 13.9
Evelyn - 6.8

Advanced stats in college bball are pretty useless but ok.

Find me a decent player with a 0.035 WS/40 if you're going to make that anecdotal argument.

Next you'll start arguing that Manu Ginobili wasn't a top 5 player on the teams he routinely came off the bench for.

Who said Evelyn was decent? I said he was the 8th or 9th player Fran had available to him last year.

Now you are just trying to change the argument.

Take out Garza and Bolton (who I think is their best player) and 2-12 on each team looks like:

Wieskamp
Fredrick
Connor
Bohannon
Nunge
Patrick
Toussaint
Ke. Murray
Ulis
Perkins
Kr. Murray

Young
Coleman Lands
Harris
Johnson
Jackson
Dubar
Blackwell
Foster
Walker
Conditt
Pick your walk on

That group for ISU is straight trash.
How is it trash lmao

Speaking of "laughing at," I remember the mocking you basketball wizards over on CyFan, especially your head buffoon, CyTwins, gave McCaffery for signing Garza and Bohannon.
Not to mention laughing at Fredrick for being just a favor to his uncle, Garza=Woody2.0, Nunge being only 6-9 190lbs, Murray Twins are garbage, it goes on & on. Ive never ever seen a guy so obsessed with a rival team. It’s concerning, to say the least.

If would have been great if we could have gotten both J.O. and Foster, to go along with Nunge. Potentially a very good 3 man rotation at the 4/5. Oh well, eat shit Foster.

I dont think we take Josh O if Foster commits to Iowa.

And Foster can still transfer to Iowa after this season and not have to sit out a year.

ISU is going to finish bottom 3 in the Big 12 and not make the NIT with that roster plus Bolton. That is how its trash.

How is it better than Iowa's 2-12?

Every rating service basically has ISU at or near the bottom of the Big 12. ISU is currently in the running for one of the worst P6 teams in the country. They were trailing APB at halftime, a team that was down to Wisconsin 25-0.

No one player makes a team go from absolutely terrible to a top 5 team. ISU saw that last year with Haliburton. It's an absolutely absurd, troll take.

Saw that he got 9 mins today and didn't start. Someone more familiar with IaSt, do they have enough talent in front of Foster where he won't start this year? Or just easing him into the flow of college hoops?
I think he was always considered a bit of a project, including by himself, based on quotes I've seen.

Not following.

What take is an absolutely absurd, troll take?

Here is what @Hayes_30 said on CF just over a couple months ago.

"Iowa has the best player in the state. But 2-12 Iowa State has the better roster."

What an extraordinarily awful take

,
If we set up this up as:

In which order to you pick players if you were drafting Iowa players to play a Big 10 game THIS WEEKEND, then this is mine:

1. Garza
2. CJF / CONNOR / WIESKAMP - similar value
3. NUNGE / PATRICK / KeMURRAY / BOHANNON / JOE T - very similar value here. Nunge with a slight nod over Patrick/KeMurray based on experience.

Patrick has a bunch of offense and is good in the open court with his length and ball handling. We haven't seen all of that yet. On defense I think KeMurray and Nunge are better within a team. This has yet to be proven though as we haven't seen enough of any of those 3, but KeMurray is just as long and bouncy but thicker/stronger. Patrick's ability to block out is highly questionable with his frame. Patrick's strength issue will be more apparent as we get into NC and Gonzaga type teams, but he shines when his length comes into play.

Anybody remember and can tell us, is this anything like the Haluska recruitment? I mean, what are the chances that happens again?
Of course and then go on to become a top 10 scorer at Iowa.

I don't think it's anything like it - culture at ISU when Haluska was there was toxic, team didn't fit together well, and his coach got fired.

1. Garza
2. Wieskamp
3. P. McCaffery
4. Fredrick
T5. Bolton/Bohannon
7. Ke. Murray
8. Harris
9. C. McCaffery
10. Coleman-Lands
11. Jackson
12. Toussaint
13. Johnson
14. Nunge
15. Young
16. Conditt
17. Dubar
This is fun. I'd switch up a few things.
1. Garza
2. CJ, he's better than Joe at passing, shooting, and defending.
3. Joe
4. Bolton, he's a good player, I'd take him well ahead of Jordan.
5. Pat, ISU fans will love him as much as they do Connor
6. Bohannon
7. JCL, living in Illinois, saw him play a lot, solid player, loves to shoot, sometimes too much.
8.Connor, solid all around, but never great outside of A/T ratio.
9.Harris, seems small.
10.Joe T, he's a better Jackson
11. Keegan, early, but huge surprise. Not sure he'll keep it up. A week ago, he's not even close to being on this list.
12. Conditt, I like what I've seen from him in spurts that last couple years. Not a great start to this year.
13. Johnson, getting a lot of minutes to start, have not seen him play at all.
14.Nunge, surgery could damper his year.
15. Soloman Young, not Solo, guys get nicknames who are good at things, or play sports for ISU. When Defense is the first thing you bring up about a guy, he's not high on a list.
16.Jackson, wasn't impressed with him at all last year when I saw him play, but who knows.

Too early for the rest of the freshman at this point, outside of Keegan. I'm sure Foster will be on here by EOY. Uhlis looks the part as well.

I honestly have no idea what foster was thinking. He is going to play for a coach that has never developed a big man and that won’t be there his whole career.
I believe Keegan Murray had better stats in his first College game than did Foster. I am happy with our recruiting class.

Foster was the last of their four freshmen to get off the bench on Sunday. He only played 9 minutes.

He hasn’t practiced much as he missed a lot of time with injuries including a concussion. Him being last off the bench in the first game is likely more to do with lack of time on the court in practice rather than as a talent evaluation.

I think Keegan is a 3 and Kris a 4 (both can play either tho) so if Joe W goes pro I think Patrick and Keegan split time at 3 and Kris / Keegan can split time at 4 but you’d still want a bigger type for diversity.

Agree Sandfort if he kept growing is a 4.
Joe W. will not go Pro. See J. Uthoff for an example how tough it is to make an NBA Team.

Foster has missed a lot of practice time from what I have read and so is behind. Wouldn’t be surprised if at some point down the road he starts taking Conditts minutes. But I think you really won’t see him start to excel until next year.
