This could be a very good defense Hawk fans. The "A" team pitched a shutout with two key DL out and a LB unit clearly needing improvement. I'm gonna temper my expectations a bit but Coach Parker has the raw materials for something special IMO and, most notably, a potent pass rush ….. something Iowa fans are not particularly accustomed to.

An overflow crowd of 51 Y/N entries to kick start the new season with less than half (22) answering a majority of the questions correctly. One contestant, however, reached near perfection. Congratulations to Dauminator (9-1) who, well, dominated the field.

Two contestants, Obviously Oblivious (8-2) and Pepperman (8-2) tied for the Runner-Up spot. The Tie-Breaker was employed and Pepperman was awarded 2nd place by virtue of his closer prediction to Nate Stanley's unexpectedly low passing yardage (TB = 108)

Last Meeting: NIU 30, Iowa 27 (2013)

Happy Labor Day weekend Hawk fans. Big Ten nemesis Northern Illinois rolls into Iowa City on Saturday looking to add another scalp to its growing collection of B10 victims. Obscure side note: HC Rod Carey's first victory at NIU came against Iowa (2013) while Kirk Ferentz' first victory as Iowa's HC came against NIU (2000).

If you have participated in any of the weekly Y/N contests over he past 6 years you already know the rules: answer Yes or No to all ten questions ….. and don't forget the Tie Breaker question. I usually post contest results on Mondays.

Annual disclaimer
: individual results may or may not vary, no psychics allowed, performance enhancing drugs are strictly prohibited, stop playing if a rash develops, contestants who answer all ten questions incorrectly are subject to ridicule, the weekly champion traveling trophy is not an actual trophy, contact a physician if you experience an erection lasting more than 4 hours.
