I was betting O'Toole would beat MM in finals, but I think MM can beat Carr. I guess we will find out.

I think he's a good kid and sportsman. That's how I read it.
I’ll go the other way and say MM. that’s a great matchup though. If MM wins tomorrow I’ll go so far as to say he’s a 4 timer barring health. MM is special. Should be fun to watch tomorrow.
I think he also really appreciates the way Caliendo wrestles him.

I'm actually hoping this is the explanation, but it felt to me that MC just lost his confidence or mental toughness after a couple minutes. Of course, MM's onslaught can do that to a guy, but MC can't let that happen. MC gets a little more gas or confidence, the sky is the limit.
I think MM appreciates Caliando comes to scrap instead of turtles up like Amine. It's the NCAAs no need hold back. No moral victories at this point. MC is an athlete and a good wrestler! Respect a good opponent.
Absolutely. In all honesty Cali’s best chance to beat MM is to catch him off a counter. But Cali isn’t built that way. That attitude might cost him the chance to win a national title but I’d rather a wrestler be like that, cuz it’s hard to coach a guy that’s the opposite. There is still a lot of upside in Caliendo and it’s precisely because he wants to be aggressive and offensive.
I wanna see PSU lose every match.... But that has to be a stall on Michigan there...

Why do opponents always turn into the stong hand chop side when they are being ridden by psu guys. Its constant. It usually leads to an easy early breakdown. Then psu traps the ankle and you’re a minute plus in before you sniff an escape.
Agree, he still has a lot of upside potential. If MM does go down to 57 and KOT up to 74, he might be the favorite at 65 next year.
Hard to watch the matches and not think like Iowa’s guys just aren’t as long and athletic as a lot of other teams

If Star had to wrestle a guy like Caliendo or Messenbrink this year, I’m not sure he would hold up. But so far, the 174 pounders just want to dance with him I guess.

Hindsight's 20-20, but with Rocco in the finals, Star and Griffith battling injuries, and Mekhi a shell of his former self, makes you wish Gabe hadn't taken a red-shirt. He could have gone deep in this tourney.
