Not quite the same, but i get your point. In the long run the TEAM won. Then you analyze the total results & change out the weak link. That's what a good manager/coach does. Took some time with BF, but Iowa is getting there.

^^ Kirk's age and longevity are starting to be used against him and Iowa on the recruiting trail. But there are a lot more transfers out there.

But we need a passing game where you can confidently throw on 1st down a lot and have quick 5-7 yard gains to spread out the defense and run the ball or pass based on counting helmets in the box etc.

We are not there yet

There is supposed to be a rule about "displacing" your opponent. Thats supposed to be a foul. As you said though the way she does it the refs just kind of overlook her pushing the opponent out of the way.

Most running backs dont get drafted very high anymore because there are so many good ones, dont have to pay them first round money for 3-4 years but just replace them when they get worn out.

I'm not sure of your point. Resar is an injured wide receiver today and I seriously doubt Lainez ever sees the field at Iowa. QB recruiting over the last 6 years has been a complete bust along with the one time they splurged on the portal. Brian/Kirk had no business evaluating QB's and it showed over and over.
