This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

How can there possibly be any "fresh" sanctions left to impose on Russia?,... makes zero sense.
It makes a ton of sense. The west did not go all in on sanctions - still have not - for stabilization and humanitarian and frankly goods the west may still need. They are escalating now because they know Russia is hurting bad AND the likelihood that US will bail on Ukraine, and mark my words, we are. ..it will be the first thing he does based on his and cabinet’s ties to Putin. They will instantly stop all funding and weapons transfer and roll back sanctions. It is going to be Europe’s fight next four years.

Nukes to Ukraine!?!

Another $24 billion. These people are f***ing insane. And the pubs will line up behind Lady Lindsey, Moscow Mitch and the little garden gnome Mike Johnson, dicks in hand, to vote AYE!

You are ignorant.

It teaches you how to think and gives you a wide-ranging survey of science/culture/history/etc.
It can, sure.

But you would be better off living in a college library after your McDonald’s shift than to pay 60-80 grand to get that “diverse learning” experience as a means to earning a piece of paper that says, “Bachelor of Arts in English Literary Studies awarded to Joe Blow May 2025.”

The piece of paper might as well say, “Congratulations on reading a wide array of novels and learning a bunch of culturally inclusive pedagogies that provided copious opportunities for bloviating knowledge in impractical, pragmatically useless manners. We hope you enjoyed your 4-6 years of drinking, drugging, video-gaming, and fledgling attempts at scoring lots of pussy, all under the guise of higher learning and esoteric knowledge. Good luck at your $16/hour entry-level job at Wells Fargo. We trust this whole experience has been invaluable and has set you up for a successful, richly rewarding life. Thank you for becoming an alumnus and don’t forget to give back to the institution that made all of this possible for you when we send future letters in the mail asking for donations.”

The End.

Look how well that turned out for them.
Working class would love to hear stores how some ultra liberal went to private school for four years for gender studies, jacked off in Europe for a semester and borrowed every penny and now wants help.

There is no sob story for the kid that went to junior college and state school and worked part time.

There is not a playoff worthy team in the big 12

1) Don’t lump B1G into SEC. That’s a a joke.
2) B12 top four would fare well in B1G.
3) if your point is that Iowa would win the B12, that’s a joke, too.
4) OSU and Oregon would each have three losses vs an SEC schedule
Holy shit. These are opinions, so they can’t be disproven.

It’s also an opinion that Rosanne Barr is hotter than Heidi Klum.

In both cases, it’s probably not worth engaging with the holder of such opinions.

Good luck with whatever it is you do. It must be a struggle.

Tadjo

He was pretty lost at times which probably contributed to the bad positioning on defense, but I was impressed with his size. He was taller and more solid than I realized. He is sized like a player that always gives Iowa fits and am hoping the more familiar he gets with his role the more he can contribute. He certainly isn't afraid to bang inside which this team needs.

Tariffs against Canada Mexico and China.

There's a place for tariffs up to the point where a government subsidizes exports to can market share. After that, punitive tariffs on imports are intended to help the government imposing the tariffs gain revenue and stimulate that country's domestic production. Just like corporate taxes, the consumer actually is paying more.

Yes, it can be a negotiating tactic as long as the exporting country thinks it will happen. At some point a tariff will have to happen for it to continue to ebe a negotiating point.
Understood.
Trump’s background as a real estate guy in NYC gives him a mindset, if you will, about what’s considered “tough” in negotiations. He is still operating in that mindset.
We’ve been concentrating on our Southern border and it commands that attention but I read an interesting statistic about our northern border yesterday - illegals entering from Canada in 2023 were at a 17 year high. And they came from 97 different countries. Trudeau knows they have to step it up.

This truly was a disservice,.. High schools really need to bring back the trade classes also like shop, welding, auto repair, etc...
Bring back? What high schools have dropped them?

The emphasis you see with them is completely dependent on the students attending the school. Kids in highly affluent, rich districts rarely want to be in autoshop classes so those schools don't prioritize them. No point on having a class that no one wants to take. You have a far larger crowd wanting to take AP classes though so that's where the money goes. The school I work at has a very highly developed trade skill (which is called Technology Education these days) department. In fact, it is possible for students to get a full welding certification before they have graduated.
