Elon Musk publicized the names of government employees he wants to cut. It’s terrifying federal workers

Terrified that they are going to lose their jobs? Fine.

Terrified because they've been called out on social media by a powerful billionaire with millions of followers? That's different. This is despicable behavior by a man that has everything - except a conscious.
It gives me great pleasure that the US versions of Comrade Yeltin (sp?) and Comrade Kaprugina are living in fear. You might call it a “guilty pleasure”, except that I feel no guilt.

How many of the D’s on this board

OK.

And how do you feel about the illegals who did none of that?

(did not follow the process, did not come here legally and get green cards, work visas, etc...)

Your opinion on that type of illegal please.
If they’ve truly entered illegally and are not/have never been involved in a process to legalize themselves? This is where I would like an amnesty program of some sort - in broad strokes I’ve suggested the following before:

1) they get 1 year to come forward and identify themselves. If they can establish that they have a job, have a place to live etc; AND have never committed anything worse than a parking ticket; I’d grant them essentially a permanent resident status or something. BUT they can never apply for citizenship.
2) if they do not, or do commit a crime after coming forward, they get deported with no appeals.
3) anyone who has committed a crime is fair game for deportation.

Fair?

Are transgender identifying people "born that way"?

The idea that people would literally choose to deal with everything that goes with being trans is just dumb. I never chose to be straight or to identify as male and I've never heard anyone make the claim that they did.
This line of thinking has always bothered me. There are all kinds of people out there that do all kinds of weird stuff. Some people ink up their entire bodies, or pierce the cap out of it. All kinds of things that I sit here and go, “Why in the world would you put yourself through that?!?”.

People (especially people that are having difficulty fitting into mainstream society) will do almost anything to carve out a subculture where their kink will be accepted. This is no different.

Tariffs against Canada Mexico and China.

Trudeau is now rationalizing about the small comparative percentage. He's not going to win that battle. He also needs to be looking at what his own political future looks like. I've been to Canada many times. They have tough rules when it comes to letting Americans in if they think it will affect a Canadian job. Time to look in the mirror I think.
Canada has been like this for years. It’s not just Trudeau.

Understood.
Trump’s background as a real estate guy in NYC gives him a mindset, if you will, about what’s considered “tough” in negotiations. He is still operating in that mindset.
We’ve been concentrating on our Southern border and it commands that attention but I read an interesting statistic about our northern border yesterday - illegals entering from Canada in 2023 were at a 17 year high. And they came from 97 different countries. Trudeau knows they have to step it up.

This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

How can there possibly be any "fresh" sanctions left to impose on Russia?,... makes zero sense.
It makes a ton of sense. The west did not go all in on sanctions - still have not - for stabilization and humanitarian and frankly goods the west may still need. They are escalating now because they know Russia is hurting bad AND the likelihood that US will bail on Ukraine, and mark my words, we are. ..it will be the first thing he does based on his and cabinet’s ties to Putin. They will instantly stop all funding and weapons transfer and roll back sanctions. It is going to be Europe’s fight next four years.
