Whiskey reminded me this morning that there's a common belief that HORT is a liberal hell hole. Time to definitively find out and see the actual numbers.

Vote if you lean left or right. No centrist crap. Votes are visible so you will be called on your bullshit and removed in the final tally if you're pulling a 2000 Mules.

Why do people care what Elon Musk has to say about politics?

He doesn't have any particular expertise behind most of his opinions. He doesn't appear to be extremely knowledgeable about much politically. Most of his offerings are off the cuff opinions -- usually regurgitations of other X postings -- posted on X.

He doesn't ever actually debate or have his ideas challenged intellectually. He doesn't produce in depth analysis or essays or intellectual content pertaining to his politics. He doesn't produce new or interesting political thought.

He's sort of commonly libertarian and anti-woke the way you might see on this message board.

He's a big celebrity so everybody pays attention to his politics, but anybody that's halfway well read or thought gets nothing from him.

He's boring and I don't learn anything from him.

How long will Donald and Melania pretend that they are married now that she will not join him in the WH?

Melania will continue to live in NYC at Trump Tower, where she has been for several months. She will occasionally go to Florida, but it can be assumed she won't be there when Donald is visiting. She will visit DC for the glamorous stuff.
It's weird that the media, even Fox, aren't covering the fact that Melania has left Donald.

This is bat shit insane: literally!

Two men died in Rochester, New York, after being infected with a rare fungus found in bat feces they had used or planned to use to fertilize homegrown cannabis plants, according to a report published in a medical journal.

OT: Nice "moral victory," Illinois

The Illini just aren't good enough, talented enough, or tough enough to get a win @ home, dropping a game to Tennessee yesterday, literally at the last second. The Illini allowed Tenn to dribble the ball the length of the floor and hit a game-winning layup as time expired. I don't know how Illinois is gonna be an NCAA team with such poor defense with the game on the line.

BTW: Tennessee, ranked #1, remains undefeated at 10-0. But what a chance the Illini blew. They clearly have work to do. Moral victories ain't gonna getcha to the NCAA. (Did I do that right?) ;)

Des Moines Public Schools approves extension, raise for superintendent

The head of Des Moines Public Schools is getting a pay raise and contract extension.

Dembele?

Obviously I'm missing his value as a starter to the team. Help me understand why Fran starts him?
Stats:
(6'8", 255 lbs; 3.9 ppg, 4.0 rpg; 0.9 apg; 36.8 FG%; 30.8 3FG%)

His ball handling isn't sharp, he's a poor shooter, defense isn't bad but gets lots of fouls. Everytime he starts or plays major minutes I think Fran is making a mistake.
