Welp, time to make the loyalty switch from Southwest to Delta....

Hilton just gave me an invitation-only status match to get Delta Silver Medallion, and I got the Gold Delta Amex with a 70,000 point sign-up bonus and no annual fee for the first year.

I've been loyal to Southwest for a few years, but with them switching to assigned seating, they'll be just like everybody else.

And they also have increasingly bad flight options from Orlando to Raleigh, which is where the vast majority of my air travel goes. Delta has much better choices. And the cost is about the same. Southwest isn't a low-fare carrier anymore.

So with this status match incentive, I'm pulling the trigger and will be loyal to Delta this year to see how I like it.

Any Delta fans here who can give me some tips for getting the best experience/value?

One throw to tight ends all f’n game?! It’s funny they’re talking about our TE’s in the NFL and we don’t use them!

Lester get your thumb out your ass and realize our tight ends create mismatches with linebackers all day. Lachey wasn’t used wisely all year. But, there hadn’t been ANYTHING wise about our pathetic, useless offense for almost a decade.

New I-Pass Transponder

Just got my new Illinois Tollway transponder in the mail. Instead of a plastic device, it is now a sticker with a barcode that is supposed to be stuck on the windshield. I typically use the tollways no more than 3-4 times a year and have no interest in putting the sticker on my windshield if I don't have to. Does anyone have first-hand experience with putting the piece of paper with the sticker on the dash near the windshield like I did with the plastic device? I'll hang up and listen.

(I understand that the sensors read my license plate and I can go online after-the-fact and pay, but prefer to pay in real time with the transponder if possible.)

Merry Christmas early

I hope everyone here on these boards have a blessed Christmas and everyone who had family enjoy them while you can! Unfortunately, I am the last one alive in my family as both parents passed away in the last 4 years as well as both of my siblings that went way too early before they even turned 50… at least I have my fiancés family that are super cool… Ho Ho Ho and let’s beat Missouri for a cherry 🍒 on top for the end of the year.

NE Iowa & SW Wisconsin folks

I used to spend a lot of time up in that area as a kid in the 80s/90s. Haven't been there in awhile, but I have some projects up there for the next several months. Strawberry Point, Elkader, Postville, Monona, Waukon, PDC and Platteville. And several rural areas. I'm looking forward to it. I love that area. Need some ideas where to go after work for dinner & beer. I love small town bars.
