I am definitely an Iowa homer, and an optimist, and I am a big fan of KF. I am disappointed right now, in both KF and the players. I understand people are pissed off.......and that's ok.

We played a good team today, we were at less than full strength, we got a huge wake-up call, Iowa teams get better as the season goes on, and we play a lot of not so good teams this year.

So I am calling 10-4. 7-2 big ten play, winning the west. Hard fought loss in the CCG, and a win in a good but not great Bowl game.

I don't think they get to 10. I saw some real holes today. Lack of playmakers on both sides of the ball. Both lines were beat up by a d2 school.

I say 8-4 tops. Hello music city bowl Maybe a team they can beat in a bowl.

IMHO, I think thatd be the best case scenario. I really see 3 more regular season losses, and based on the past several years, a bowl loss as well.

I'm thinking 8-4, with outside shot at 7-5 regular season. We will lose to Michigan, Nebby, and at PSU. Nebby wins the West, so no 14th game. Maybe win Foster Farms Bowl to go 9-4 or 8-5, but either of those are good years at Iowa.

Sorry Boss you're too late predictions are made before the season. I'm guess you were one of those crazy 12-0 guys. Btw I had us at 9-3 with one down and two to go.

Good for you. No I wasn't thinking 12-0, more like 10-2 or 9-3 although I never made an actual prediction. I guess I just mostly posted that to make myself feel better, although I do believe it can happen.

Yes, this was a bad loss. An above average power 5 team playing at home should never lose to the best FCS team. EVER.
But, despite that numbnutz performance they put on today, this loss doesn't yet affect the season goals they have a shot at achieving.
They can still win the B1G west, get to the B1G championship game, and play in a Jan. 1 bowl.
Will that happen? It clearly looks like a longer shot based on today's performance. But, the B1G west is hardly a juggernaut. nebby is now clear favorite, but they aren't without flaws. wisky is a better team than Iowa, but they struggled at home against georgia state and have an incredibly difficult conference schedule ahead. minny is ... well, minny.

Iowa was never going to go unbeaten for the year. They were never going to make it into the playoffs. Those things are gone, but there was no way they were realistically going to happen anyway.

So they're left with suffering the humiliation of losing to an FCS team at home and not making it into the playoffs. Both things they can get past.

What remains to be seen is do they come back from this and compete for the B1G west title? Or do they repeat past KF history and fold up in the face of expectations and roll to a 7-5 regular season and bottom of the bowl barrel?

That's totally fair. Again, it was a long shot but I believed the Hawks were better than last year's team with only one game more tough, Michigan, and it was at home. I'm not a believer in Penn St. in the least.

Wisconsin has a running back who is capable of putting up big numbers. Minnesota up there will not be easy. Best case scenario we finish the regular season at 9-3. 6-6 could happen if we play like we did today.
