Why not hang a jersey with their name on it and still use the number?
In 5 years or less nobody is going to know who #10 is/was.

Not that I know of. It surely is somewhere in CHA or WBB offices. They would be nice to have in one of the displays on the concourse.
I like players who wear numbers to salute or honor former stars. Retiring Jackie Robinson's 42 across baseball meant that no future players (like Mo Vaughn, Mariano Rivera, etc. did) could wear it to honor him.
Not a huge fan of retiring numbers.
Is Megan’s number retired, like Lester’s? Or just her “Jersey”, like BJs and Marbles?

I think the point is that all these years later Hawk fans still remember him or know about him. Some dumbazz said that no one will remember her in 5 years or less.

Don’t think wrestlers have numbers and I doubt 2% of the state’s population could tell you what Kinnicks number was. Most likely recognize the name.
