11-14-15

Just talked to a friend who's a football fan and not a wrestling fan. Figured he'd bring the family to the meet, too, in addition to the game. I think there will be a lot of like-minded Iowa fans on 11/14/15.

I plan on bringing the whole family to the wrestling event but only the son and I are staying for the football game. Does anyone have advice on where the best place to buy football tickets are? I can't find any ticket online for much less than $100 a piece. I don't want to pay that much if I can avoid it and I've not been to enough football games to really know the ins and outs (if there are any). Any help would be appreciated. TIA
You can get tickets online at Hawkeyesports.com or, if you have an affinity for danger, you can try and get tickets on the secondary market the day of the game when the scalpers lower the price.

Thanks for the football ticket info guys, appreciate the help.

Huck, I bought 3 tickets last night from the Iowa Ticket Office. $65 per ticket, which is the price everywhere in the stadium I believe. You could take a chance and wait to scalp some on game day if you only need 2, 3 in a row are a bit harder to come buy so I just bit the bullet and paid the price. No hassles on the day of the event, tickets in hand for the wrestling and the football, worry free day. I consider that worth it. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Anyway, here is a link to get Football tickets.

I thought that I heard that during the first 75 minutes, the ticket number was up to 16,000......and they had sold 4,000+ tickets. Simple math is about 12,000 seats were purchased by season ticket holders. I know that along with our 4 season tickets, we purchased 6 additional tickets to the grapple on the gridiron.
Sorry -- I wasn't clear in my question. I'm wondering how many were actually sold on the first day that they were available to non-season-ticket holders. Season ticket holders had bought at least a few thousand before tickets were opened up to non-season-ticket holders. Anybody know that number?

Thanks -- that was the info I was looking for. So in other words, about 18,000 tickets were sold on the first day that they were available to non-season-ticket holders. That would have been about my guess.

Where are we now?

Unless the numbers have changed, not 18,000. Looks like 12k were from season ticket holders (obviously purchasing extra). So if we are at 24k now, that would be another 12k in the last 5 days. I think it got up to 20k that first day, so maybe 8,000 sold the first day. Maybe that is what you meant.

The actual seating chart shows the mat area extending from the south edge of the south end zone out to about the 10 yard line. Section 124 goes from about the 8 to about the 20. It looks to me like sections 123 (west side) and 109 (east side) are more centered on the mat, but 124 will still be great. You'll have a terrific view; you'll be just a little bit above us. I'm not sure if the location on the chart is exactly like it's going to be on 11/14/15, but if they move it at all toward the 50, your view will only be better. You're in good shape no matter what.
They will not be moving the mat.Season ticket holders were given first choice based on mat location.
