A 20-year-old man went to an Omaha hospital by private vehicle early Sunday after being wounded by gunfire near 22nd Street and Poppleton Avenue.
Officers were called to a shooting shortly after 4 a.m., Pecha said. Witnesses said a man was shot and then left the scene.
A short time later, officials at the Creighton University Medical Center said Lugo arrived with a gunshot wound.
